joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 For the record, Nyquist is probably my favourite player aside from Z and Dats but I wouldn't lose any sleep over trading him for a defensemen like Shattenkirk Detroit needs to go ahead and outbid for Green and Franson. Deal with the logjam come October. Waive Q and K, trade Smith, whatever. I amf****** sick of always watching these teams getting better, trying things, making ballsy moves and Holland standing pat. I get it, kids, I know, but damn it, you can have the kids next season when you once again have some open spots. You are not going to be able to keep all 4 anyhow. Not with E and Kronner signed forever. You are keeping Danny D for sure. Sign Green and Franson to that group and then you are instantly better. Hell, trade Jensen and Sproul also when the time comes. I love the lore of the streak, but Dats and Z aren't getting any younger, they don't have time to wait for these kids to become regulars. By time any if these 4 kids become regular players, Dats will be retired and Z will have half a back left. Just do it.You would make a terrible GM 2 rick zombo and PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this

joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 We've been so unlucky with all the desperate GMs being in our conference we're not able to be apart of these deals that's moved quality defensemen
wings87 1,290 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Not saying go and trade Nyquist. But his value is as high as it's likely to get. So if you're going to trade him, might as well do it now.

ShereKhan 34 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 If you can get a guy who can fix a lot of problems for you without creating more, you do it. Losing Gus would suck at first, but we have a lot of young promising forwards and the chances to get young players like Shattenkirk are few and far between. MrazekFanBoy 223 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Not really, I don't think it be smart to trade Nyquist now especially with Blash coming in, let's see what he can get out of him before we trade a guy who's had about 100 points in the past two seasons under Mike Babcock

nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) Blues need a goalie like Crawford. Makes the big saves when they need it but is okay when untested for the majority of the game. This is Howard's weakness. If he's not getting action chances are he'll give up some untimely, bad goals. But on the other hand he can be phenomenal when we're being badly outplayedOh I'd trade howard in a heartbeat and sign a veteran goalie or trade for oneNot looking at the lineup and prospects but I'd consider something like Howard nyquist helm smith For Shattenkirk backes Rattie Edited July 1, 2015 by nyqvististhefuture 1 ShereKhan reacted to this

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Lebrun just said on TSN the interest in Green has been less than what he expected. Mentioned thinking it'll be us, but the Bruins are still hanging around and if they decide to panic last minute and overpay him, please do Sweeney.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 I'd go as high as 5.5 as long as the term is only 3/4 years. Managable contract, and potentially asset in a few years if the kids develop beyond what we expect. I just have a feeling someone else last minute will bring the $$$
nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) If green didn't get the offers he expected I doubt it's that high ....
