wow that's a bargain thought he would get at least 4 million. Him not accepting the Leafs deal of 4,75 for 5 years could turn out to be a costly mistake.

Surprised wings couldn't beat that offer he would have been a nice second pairing guy with some much needed physicality.

Sabres are improving quickly

The wings may have made an offer and it was rejected. Either way we signed two dmen this off-season. We can't sign everyone

Gotta think he wanted to go to Buffalo for some reason. Otherwise every GM for a contending team would have cleared the decks for the guy. I would have traded B. Smith a month ago if I new that I could have Cody Franson for 3.3 at 2 years.

Kronner-E

Dekeyser-Green

Quincey-Franson

Yes please.

Brendan can go turn the puck over for Toronto if Babs loves his compete level that much.

I don't think there's anyone that wants B. Smith.

Lotta guys ended up out of work this season driving prices down. Buffalo was also probably a good choice for him. They're gonna be a lot better this year and he'll get good minutes on their blue line. He needs it after that short stint with the Preds.

http://www.csnne.com/boston-bruins/all-3-boston-bruins-first-rounders-fail-conditioning-test-camp

"But it was on turf, and it was raining, and one of them barely failed, so its okay."

"Clearly, it’s not the end of the world as it’s not abnormal for 18-year-olds to flunk the grueling conditioning run in their first couple of times out of the gate. At the end of the day it’s not such a bad thing for the first-round picks to get a bit of a wakeup call after a charmed summer where their NHL Draft dreams became reality. Now each of the trio knows that it’s all business with the Bruins from here on out, and the expectations have been raised now that they represent the Original Six organization."

I mean, clearly it's not the end of the world, but what kind of message are you sending the besides a "wake up call."

They certainly now know loud and clearly that their organization will allow the Boston media to s*** all over them. Great jorb, guize.

Blackhawks sign Seabrook to 8-year, contract extension, worth reported $54.8M

He's making more than keith.

They'll have over half the salary cap in six players.

Crazy.

Not a signing, but Maxime Talbot has been waived by the Bruins.

]Bruins waive Talbot

It's nuts how much the cap is killing guys like Talbot. In the 90s, teams would have kept him on the roster just because of what he did in 09. Guy's only 31. Now it's 4-6 players at 6M+ and a bunch of kids making 950k.

But whatever. f*** that little gnome and curses to him for all eternally.

This has to be one of the most uncanny NHL off-seasons in the last few years or maybe ever. Guys who are 29 - 31 are looking for jobs and having to take PTOs, a former top 4 pairing guy hitting waivers after 1 year of his contract (still 30 million are remaining) and not one blow me away UFA contract.

wasn't sure where to put this /didn't think it deserved its own thread but Janmark has made the dallas roster. congrats kid!

http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2015/10/06/great-story-janmark-surprises-makes-dallas-roster/

“It’s a great story,” Dallas GM Jim Nill said, per the Morning News. “We really only planned to have him here for maybe two preseason games and then send him back. But he just kept being one of the best players out there, and he changed our minds.

“It’s a great example of what you can do if you just play hard.”

Nill acquired Janmark, 22, from Detroit at last year’s deadline as part of the Erik Cole trade. Nill was familiar with the Swedish forward from his time with the Wings — he was part of the front office team that drafted Janmark in ’13 — but didn’t think the deal would pay such immediate dividends.
