3-3 Coutorier on a tip-in, well that was a little unnecessary...

Lindholm completely screwed up when trying to backhand the puck out of his own zone.

4-3 former LA King Oscar Möller on a slapshot from the hashmarks.

And Mike Smith continues to look like a complete sieve.

U.s.a lost to Belarus and larkin -2

As much as I wanna see larkin athanasiou mantha tearing it up in the nhl maybe it's best for larkin to stay for one more year? He's turning 19 in July , can play one year in the ahl and then nhl hopefully at 21?

You guys think he should go with Grand Rapids next year?

I think he should.

I wouldn't be against him being the big dog in Ann arbor, but I think hell learn more in grand rapids.

I agree with this 100%. Not that u of m has a bad coach or anything but I think he'll develop faster in the ahl, playing against tougher competition. I think he should spend all of next season in grand rapids and then he'll start the following season there and perhaps be one of the first call ups that season, assuming his development goes well.

He's so fast and he can control the puck while he skates, so he can simply walk(at a very high rate of speed) around college teams, which is why I agree with him moving up now.

I admit that although Larkin is one of our prospects that I am most excited about, he is probably the one I know the least about, in the sense that other than his Wolverines highlights, I've only seen him play those five games in this past years World Juniors. And although he looked unreal in that tournament, he is still just an 18 year old kid. History has proven that our "over ripening" strategy works, so I don't know why we'd stray from that now. Mantha proved that the transition from junior (or in this case college) to pro is a very big step for a young kid, and he was a year older when he made the jump. I'd personally rather one more season of college and then make the transition to pro in Grand Rapids. I'm sure we'll soon find out where he is headed next season, I hope he continues to impress regardless of where he ends up.

Like I said, I'd have no problem with him being back at u of m but I don't see what he'd learn from going back to a place where all he has to do is skate fast to be successful.

From what I've seen of him, His hands are decent, good to very good if you take into account how fast he's moving with the puck, but he doesn't have the best shot at full speed, and in college, literally all he has to do is skate fast..

His playmaking is pretty damn good.

But it could be better.

Which are things I think he could be taught more adeptly at the pro level, just because he won't simply be able to out skate as many people/teams...

The kids going to be successful wherever he's at. He's smart, he's big, he's skilled, he's effin fast, and he works his ass off...

I'd be more concerned about stunting his development, than pushing him too fast at this point.

Stunting isn't the right way to describe it, more like hindering it, or stringing it out longer than it needs to be...

We're kind of in the situation where we need him sooner than later, if for nothing more than I want him to be around pav and z for as long as possible...

And with mantha, someone on HF boards put it really well.

He was playing in aa in juniors, not AAA.

When he made the jump up it took him a season to do anything.

He was a fifth round pick in the q(iirc) and he wasn't good until he adjusted.

I'm willing to give him the benefit if the doubt that he just needs to adjust.
