Doesn't he own a team in the KHL? Or am I thinking of someone else.

Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. Then again, didn't Fedorov play on that team that got Babcock to leave Anaheim?

Canada. The tax rates in Canada are pathetic. The tax brackets for higher wages are absolutely insane, hence why when I graduate with my engineering degree I wanna move down south. Sur every country has its problems, but I don't want to end up in a situation where I am paying out nearly half my salary in taxes. It's horses***.

Just don't go too far south.

People are a lot angrier than the hospitality suggests.

Ha

Where does Fedorov come into play here?

On defense, for some reason.

Fedorov is GM of CSKA Moscow. Don't think he has any ownership in it

Yeah, Feds was on the 03-04 Ducks that missed the playoffs after making it to the Finals the year before.

No I'm not contradicting myself. our d isn't very good defensively, but we have a defensive minded system. That's my problem with it

Babcock is a defensive minded coach... Why do you think two way players have flourished so much under him lol. I agree with you Euro just saying this for others Edited by MrazekFanBoy

He might be a defensive minded coach but It's moreso the Red Wings style as a whole.

We're had defensive minded players since the 90's long before Babs came around. Yzerman, Draper, Federov to name a few. It's just a tradition passed down by the players. Z and D learned from their predecessors and they will pass it down to the young guys as well. Lead by example.

Getting farther off topic, but I found it interesting when I checked the roster: both Dan Bylsma and Chris Kunitz played for that 03-04 Mighty Ducks team. A rare instance of playing with your coach (now former coach).

Also intereting that Babcock coached these future coaches in his Anaheim years:

Adam Oates

Dan Bylsma

Steve Thomas (ass. for Tampa)

Sorry, I was bored.....

Yeah I remember either FSN-D or NBC covering those facts earlier this year. Didn't know the Chris Kunitz one tho.

Now that Montreal is out, cue the Babcock to Montreal rumours. Babs no speak French though.

I think this would be an interesting twist if Chiarelli doesn't drink the Babcock $5m/yr for 5 year koolaid and he doesn't request permission to interview Babcock and just go with McLellan instead. (Not a bad call on McLellan, solid coach for less) Imagine what that might do to Babs ego ... so no Crosby to coach, no McDavid ... you really want to go to Buffalo or the dysfunctional Leafs.

That's what is coming out of Edmonton ... I love it! Sorry Mikey, no McConnor for you.

Good for him. He's a fantastic coach and he will do well with the kids.

What are the chances that franchise would have a "major collapse"?

So as of now Babs two best options are Buffalo and Toronto?

That

is

sad.
