Though the real lebrun just retweeted this, though I have no idea who he's retweeting or the authenticity of flightaware.

Pierre LeBrun retweeted

MLSE's private jet is scheduled to head to Detroit later today and depart within three minutes of arrival. http://flightaware.com/photos/view/334911-9a6d812c5b8800b9c0c814927ca8c17bbb374469/aircrafttype/GLF4

Heh, fake LeBrun is better at breaking news than LeBrun.

Bit of a shocker, all along it was Det and Buff ... now this morning, Det and Buff are out and it is Leafs, Blues, or Sharks ??!!

Out of those 3, I think Blues would be his best option if he truly wants to win now. Shocked that Toronto is still in the mix.

It just confirms for me that no one really has an inside scoop on this or knows what's actually going on other than Babcock and the teams involved.

Somebody let me know when he makes up his mind. I'm out.

Yeah, I wasn't even really following it this closely (like refreshing pages over and over) until about 20 mins ago. I think I will just go to lunch and wait for something official.

Well his decision is understandable, insulting offers, an aging team and he doesn't want to be the coach known for ending the streak and given Holland's reluctance to trade prospects and penny pinch ufas Babs job got harder and harder every year.

The amount of talent this team is losing not only on but also off ice is simply stunning. Guess it's nice that Holland got his extension for doing nothing since the last scf

So the wings wanted to give him 4mil/year, and that was not enough. If everything he says is true, about this being the place to be, then he would take the 4mil/year. Getting a strong vibe he does not like being here anymore, and maybe was not happy being here this last year.

I was almost resigned to the idea of him going to Buffalo. I could wrap my head around it and understand. But Toronto??? Ugh. As a fan of the Red Wings, I don't want that. As a fan of Babcock, I don't want that. I would love to see some last minute negotiating heroics from Holland to stop this one. That is, if all of these sources are in fact accurate.

Leafs source says they're hopeful on Babcock. Won't say more at this point.

What exactly does Toronto have again? Please enlighten us.

Leafs still don't have a GM in place, correct?

With Shanny as president and a reputable GM in place I could almost see it as something other than a massive gamble.

That's assuming Shanny is good at his job. He may not be. Nobody knows.

Money

It's official guys without it being official he's going to toronto for a ton of money and will help them pick a gm and help in trading players etc...

It's happening

Not worried about the leafs

.

how is it "official"? Yesterday he for sure wasn't going to the leafs, today he for sure is going to Toronto?

Not sure why everyone is so anti-Toronto. I know that they're division rivals and all, but the Leafs haven't exactly been one of the more stable franchises over the past few decades and they don't have a good young nucleus waiting in the wings for him take over. Sure its fun coaching an original 6 team, but not as much as as it was in Detroit.

Money and a bad 4-5 years? Toronto isn't going anywhere anytime soon, they are in worse shape then Buffalo.

LeBrun saying SJ is out. It's said the Wings and Sabres are out, and it's said the Blues are working things out with Hitch. If the Leafs are the only team left, what's the hold up? Obviously someone is wrong here.

Yesterday Bob McKenzie said Toronto is out for sure. There was articles in the paper today about Toronto losing out on Babs.
