That's kind of the bread and butter of sarcasm...

"Tonight on News 5--has the new trend of Swedish anchor babies finally gone too far? Find out tonight at 10."

I would normally agree with you. But from past interactions with Playmaker, I wouldn't be so sure. He did accusing Pavel of playing for "Team Putin" during the Olympics...

Don't be fooled. Playmaker can be wicked sarcastic. I *highly* doubt he truly believes that Swedish anchor babies are a pressing political issue

Besides, Pav *does* tow the company line when it comes to Russia...

I don't think he has a problem with Swedish anchor babies either, but like I said it's hard to know for sure. I mean, was he being sarcastic when stating that he's a small business owner and would have a problem if his employees went to work for someone else for two weeks? Was he sarcastically mad when claiming that Pavel was sitting out games with the Wings so he could rest up to play for team Putin? Anchor babies seem like something that would upset someone if they had the aforementioned views.

If it really was all a joke, then I guess he got me...sure didn't seem like it at the time though

I won't derail this any further, though I guess anchor babies isn't totally off topic. Does anybody know if Hank and Emma have become U.S. Citizens yet? I'm guessing the kid will get dual citizenship. Is that what the Lidstroms' kids did? Or Yzerman's? I know Stevie became a U.S. Citizen and if his kids were born on U.S territory then they'd automatically get citizenship.

Duh. :) And here I thought I'd get Playmaker to respond.

You have derailed it and my response is: "These crazy immigrants coming to the US popping out babies just to get DUALcitizenship. Sheesh."

I was just wondering, if it's twins, are they going to be known as Euro twins?

No one can claim the Euro Twins title except for Pasha and Sasha (as Holmstrom coined the nickname).

Pasha had a baby girl last year. If Hank has a baby boy this year, and the two kids grow up, get married, and have a set of twins, can they be called the EuroTwins?

With Hanks looks and Datsyuks pound for pound strength AND both their hockey skills combined... Those kids would be the ultimate combination of genes put together on ice.

Yeah, he's not going to get bullied or made fun of. I get that they're mega celebrities in Sweden, but I thought they had more sense than that.

The world doesnt revolve around the US and English culture. Many kids have foreign names that are respelled differently in English.

Anyways not gonna lie kind of jelous of the baby, having Z (my fav player) and a model for his mother. Damn son!

It isn't like it's a different ethinic spelling of a common American name, like Niklas. It's a name that will undoubtedly be mispronounced his entire life, and has a specific different meaning in English. They have said they are planning on residing in the US after retirement. Lidstrom managed to have 4 kids and give them names that were common in both Sweden and the US. But, then again, he is the perfect human.

I don't know why you or anyone else for that matter cares what someone else names their baby. Especially someone you have no personal affiliation with. It's a name that probably has meaning to them, is it out of the realm of possibility that kids don't make fun of him and just call him Lou?

I don't really care. He can name him Marshmallow if he wants. But for those of us who work with kids on a regular basis and have to deal with their pretentious parents who can't believe that you can't pronounce or spell the unique name of their special little flower, have a bit of a different perspective on it ;)

I'm sure no one here would give Sidney Crosby s*** for giving his kid a "unique, special name"
