RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) This proves that coaches with a mustach are better than those without. Q >>> Babcock. Edited June 16, 2015 by RedWingsRox
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 It is almost scary to imagine how many cups they may end up with. It really is no contest. Everyone thought that about the Pens too after 2009. Not saying the Hawks won't win more because they are clearly the best organization in hockey right now, but there are a lot of factors that go into play going forward. plopster 136 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Pretty sure I'm going to be sick. Literally. Just thinking about all the things that has led the Wings and Hawks down their current paths. The bowmans end up in Chicago. Yzerman goes to Tampa. We keep Franzen instead of Hossa, or did Hossa not want to come back? Babcock doesn't want to stay anymore. Can't get our free agent targets anymore. Can't help but to think something is up in Detroit. Is it possible that holland and his stupid hair is ruining things there? And has he done a fantastic snow job on the elderly Illitch? 3 frankgrimes, AtomicPunk and roboturner reacted to this

GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 You can think what you want. I'm neither a Leafs or a Hawks fan. I just know that Toews and Kane's legacy has already surpassed Datyuk and Zetterberg's. Rightfully so. What did you expect? They are elite players on a team stacked with high draft picks from sucking for years. I don't even know why you are comparing the two besides to weave your anti-Wings rants into the picture. jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Scott bakula, that's who. And Kane, had one goal in the final. *dominance* Edited June 16, 2015 by jimmyemeryhunter

The hawks are definitely one of those teams that I look at and think "geez who is going to knock them off?" Kinda like we looked at the red wings, or how much fear was put into opponents who went up against the wings 10 years ago. Ugh...

Vladiator 116 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Yup, if you have a team that is utter crap for 10 years, you too can build through the draft like the Hawks and win 3 cups. Dave Talon and Stan Bowman built this team smart. Scotty is a consultant for the team. It's not a coincidence that the Hawks success began when Stan became the GM and Scotty came over to do consulting for the Hawks. Not saying the Hawks won't win more because they are clearly the best organization in hockey right now, but there are a lot of factors that go into play going forward. People said that in 2010 as well. And I've thought for a long time that Chicago is definitely cut from a different cloth than Pittsburgh, and the results clearly show that. Just a lot of talent and a lot of guys working hard. Good management. Good coach. They're the real deal. Pittsburgh wouldn't have won even one Cup if our team hadn't been so beat up in 2009, let alone that they seemingly had the refs on their side.

Speaking of that, will we ever get to see that dream Hawks vs. Pens final? Crosby and Malkin vs. Tayes and Kane.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Yeah, some teams have been bottom feeders for years (EDM) and still suck (Lions...oops). I hated seeing Bowman leave our organization. I thought that first cup team the hawks built was the strongest. The one with Bufflyn (sp). Bownman's one of those guys that no matter where he goes championships follow. Ugh. I hate this. frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Scott bakula, that's who. And Kane, had one goal in the final. *dominance* Na Keith scored it on a rebound from Bishop. Now we will hear all summer how great the hawks are and that they are a dynasty because an NBA guy said so. Bunch of bandwagoners can't even get the booing right or loud enough..well worth 4 grand... I hope Holland is on rampage mode and finally realizes that you can't sit in your end doing nothing while the core is aging and the best D man of the team ready to retire So given all circumstances next year it's the kings cup.. I agree with you. The Wings win in 2009 again even with just a healthy Pavel Datsyuk. Malkin went off that series because Pav was hurt and couldn't shut him down while Z was taking care of Crosby. Chicago is definitely impressive, as much as we all hate them as Wings fans. I just hope this is the end of their championships for awhile. MotorCityMadness 388 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Toews and Kane > Zetterberg and Datsyuk. frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Also what about the back to back cups from the Wings ? Super dynasty ? How about the Oilers, Isles or Habs ? Sayajin dynasty ? God that pisses me of Yeah looking at it objectively the Hawks are impressive but so are the Kings, Tampa and some other up and coming teams. That being said this also goes to show people that top picks are needed can't simply count on luck or sign free agents Edited June 16, 2015 by frankgrimes
SimonSin 192 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 I've refrained from commenting on your asinine posts all year, but is there ever a moment where your not a complete assclown? Man!! You people are super sensitive! Jesus! Toews and Kane just proved they're better than D and Z and you all get mad. You think I enjoy watching Chicago win again? NOPE. But you know what? It's the truth. But Kane and Toews are supposed to better, they were higher picks for a reason. But even as Wings fan I'd take those two over D and Z any day of the week. But even as Wings fan I'd take those two over D and Z any day of the week. The thing is you are comparing a prime Toews, Kane to the Z and Pasha from nowadays both in their mid 30s.If you would have said that Toews is better than Z I'd agree but better than a prime Pasha ? I don't think so defensively they are even matched but in terms of also creating offense and making people go wow how did he do that against other nhl players ? It's Pasha. Also look at the support core Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsen, Hossa and Sharp I mean that's a top pairing and tons of options for loading up the first line or even things out on the second line Kane isn't even a center so it's tough to compare. Currently Toews is for sure a top 3 player in the league but ranking him above a prime Pasha is false.
