What changes do you think we'll see with Blashill?

A back up goalie making over 5 mil a year and a forward making 5 mil who can't crack the line-up most games. Hmmm....what do you call it? Amazing depth?

Are you the new coach? Do you know Howard will be the backup?

Will you not be playing Weiss properly this year either ?

I reserve my opinions when I see what Blashill does before assuming we have "Dead Cap Space".

Mrazek won't be handed the #1 job. I think Weiss will be bought out of he won't be a regular. Franzen on LTIR is not dead cap space and if he's healthy (a long shot I think) he will be playing. Kindly as the #7/isn't dead space either. Dead cap space is players not on the roster eating cap.

Jimmy won't be handed the starting job either. Blash will do what he wants. That goes for other positions as well.

New coach = everyone starting from scratch

New coach knows everyone, either from coaching them in GR, his year as assistant in Detroit, and/or camp.

While he may not be starting from scratch because he has knowledge of the players through coaching them to some extent... we at least know he won't be "stuck in his old ways"

New coach knew the players as an assistant years ago. He does not know what they can still contribute to the team since he was with them.

Who doesn't know him from his assistant stint or by playing in GR?

Weiss? Is that it? This should all go rather smoothly then.

I was responding to whether or not he "knows" the players or "knows" how to use them. So what I mean is he knew our veterans back in 2012 but our veterans aren't the same. Z is not even a 20 goal scorer now. He can't last a whole season. Pav has good days and bad days. Kronner is now supposed to be the new "Lidstrom" in the back end, but isnt. A lot has changed since he was an assistant. The players he helped coach on the Wings are no longer the players they used to be whether it's in a good way or a bad way. I guess the major stuff is still there. Pav still is strong on faceoffs, should be our number 1 center, how each player trains, leadership styles. etc etc.

Still Blashill knows a lot more than any other candidate would have.

I love how some people still aren't joking about the Holland cliches.

The same know-it-alls that acted like Babcock possibily going to Toronto was the dumbest thing anyone could think of?

Didn't you hear? Holland's a senile old miser who's actively trying to destroy the Detroit Red Wings legacy through his own ignorance and inaction. Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The same know-it-alls that acted like Babcock possibily going to Toronto was the dumbest thing anyone could think of?

Like George Malik, who scoffed at the idea when it was first brought up, then became increasingly neurotic as the end of the season drew near, and then stated he "saw it coming" when he signed with Toronto.

George's "reporting" of the Babcock situation is the stuff of legends.
