Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted June 11, 2015 It's been 2 days since he's been announced as coach and I cannot find anything about what his salary will be. The only thing they've let be known is it's a 4 year term. Does anyone have any information on this? I believe he should be in the $2M+ Salary range per year, what do you guys think? Kenny Holland mentioned it's a 3 year deal. Incidently Kenny's own contract is at 3 years. $2M maybe even 2.5 sounds about right to me. Haven't seen anything on what he'll earn. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted June 11, 2015 Holland said in the presser Blash is signed for four years I remember it as 3, but could be mistaken. I'd prefer it 3 as he's a rookie.

amato 3,210 Report post Posted June 17, 2015 Looks like blash is either bringing his Griffins assistant coaches with him or looking for a couple new ones.. The Toronto Maple Leafs filled out Mike Babcocks coaching staff naming three assistant coaches on Tuesday. Jim Hiller and Andrew Brewer, who spent time with Babcock in Detroit, join the Leafs. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/16/leafs-fill-out-coaching-staff-hire-hiller-smith-and-brewer/
krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted June 17, 2015 I'm pretty sure they're working on a new multi-year deal for Granato, and it's still looking like they will have Chelios in some sort of assistant coaching role as well...

I have heard this. I saw somewhere that he went to interview with toronto and buffalo then returned to detroit to work on a contract.
krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted June 17, 2015 I guess Chelios won't be behind the bench for the Wings next season. He was named assistant coach of the US National Junior Team behind head coach Ron Wilson. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2015/06/detroit_red_wings_advisor_chri.html#incart_sms_app

HockeytownRules19 902 Report post Posted June 17, 2015 Helene St. James @HeleneStJames 1m1 minute ago Chris Chelios will work with #RedWings defensemen next season (same role as w/ Grand Rapids), will not be on bench with HC Jeff Blashill.

If chelios wants to be coach, fine, but get his feet wet in a non NHL league and let's go from there. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 18, 2015 Chelios keeping his GR role in Detroit makes sense. Dudes to busy to commit to coaching full time. Interested to see who the other assistant will end up being.
