One if not currently the best 4 liner in the game what a bargain. Big touch, workhorse and will drop the gloves against anybody. Winnipeg is already a big team but Peluso adds some much needed protection, Backes and Reeves weren't running around as much after Peluso wanted to talk to them.

Guess it's safe to say Winnipeg, Blues are now having the toughest 4 lines in the league...good luck trying to run the stars against them.

Love this signing

I wouldn't mind having him on our team for that kind of money. Better than a milksop like Andersson.

Yes, he's so valuable that he managed to land a contract that pays him less than Joakim freaking Andersson lmao

So, he's cheaper, and does two things well. Andersson is more expensive and does zero things well.

9 points in 3 years played in 49 games this year... Yeah great guy to have. I cannot believe he didn't get more.

I don't need my 4th liners scoring points. I want my top two lines scoring points. I've won the Stanley Cup in every hockey video game I ever owned, and all those teams had a goon on the 4th line that didn't score a lot. In fact, on NHL 2000, I had a season with the Wings where I traded for Scott Parker on my 4th line and he put up over 500PIM and didn't score 5 goals. I had another one with Twist ....................well, you get the idea.

Is that why he rides the bench?

Gee, maybe one of these teams will make it out of the first round next year.

Maybe we can use a guy like Peluso better than they could, and actually make it out of the first round ourselves.

Is that why he rides the bench?

Andersson would ride the bench too if we didn't have a coach who was obsessed with untalented jobbers riding his 4th line and playing big minutes in playoff games. I hope Blashill kills this trend.

That doesn't change the fact that Anthony Peluso is literally a garbage hockey player

Did I say he should play 20 minutes a night?

I'd give him 8 or 9 minutes on a 4th line, let him hit people and fire up the team and crowd, be hard to play against physically. That's all.

Well, what do they know? Besides, they have other guys like him, so he doesn't bring any element they can't get elsewhere. Teams like the Jets or Flames have lots of toughness, but they're overdoing it in today's league.

Good signing for Winnipeg. He isn't going to play every single game, but he doesn't seem like a liability, from what I've seen. Not an offensive threat by any stretch of the imagination, but he plays his role well.

Right, because we've been consistent at making it out of the first round recently...

Hey now, I'm not saying the Wings are a better team than the Blues or Jets, and they're certainly not without their flaws.

It was more of a response to Francis who, as per usual, assigned value to something that doesn't really matter. As in: who gives a flying crap if these teams have tough 4th lines. They both sucked ballz in the playoffs.

For the record, the Wings had a better showing than either of those teams IMO>.

9 points in 107 career games. He does one thing well, punch. Those guys are useless in the modern NHL. He's so valuable he didn't play a single minute in the playoffs and only averaged 5:52 a game in the 49 games he did play int he regular season. So valuable he was a frequent healthy scratch.

Doesn't exactly scream "best fourth liner." But hey, fights are exciting.

That's why they didn't have success in the playoffs. If only they had played him they could have won the cup

So you're saying he does one thing more than Andersson can do?

And as I said, he was a scratch because they have other guys that can play that role. They're not lacking in that department.

He's definitely not close to the best fourth liner in the league. He's probably one of the best fighters in the league, but that alone doesn't make him a great fourth liner. When I think of solid fourth liners, I think of Gregory Campbell, Derek Dorsett, Nate Thompson, Brad Richardson, and Dan Paille.

Andersson can win faceoffs and kill penalties, two things Peluso can't do. He's a scratch because he sucks, he is not even close to being one of the best 4th liners in the NHL. Maybe the AHL though.
