Oshie has attitude problems that's one of the reasons he's gone, along with him going MIA in the playoffs annually. Oshie indicated that the Blues may be suffering from an overload of details from the coaching staff, saying “there’s a lot of information going around, guys are getting a little indecisive.” And after missing Saturday’s game against Columbus with the flu, Oshie added that he felt mentally refreshed Monday “not having to sit through all the meetings and same old practices.” Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'll hope for 95%. I agree on Yoshie, though. I think signing a guy mainly for shootout considerations wouldn't have been worth it even before this year. We have guys that should be pretty able in the shootout. It just seems that Babcock didn't practice it very much and Jimmy certainly didn't help us out. Datsyuk's 1 shooter. Jurco had a reputaion for being good at lower levels. Make it a fun competition at the end of practice (like the often do with Datsyuk's keep-away) and let Pulkkinen, Tatar, Nyquist and Jurco vie for the other shooting spots. Nyquist's 57.1% shooting percent last year was actual near the top of the league so he's probably the 2nd shooter. Wonder how Green and Richards are in the shootout. Compared to when the shootout was relatively new, Datsyuk seems completely uninterested in it. He used to be a human highlight reel. I was hoping that the younger guys on the Wings who grew up with it would be more proficient in the shootout but it hasn't seemed that way yet. In general I think it takes several seasons to be able statistically who's better in the shootout. It's such a flukey event and the sample sizes per season are extremely small. Regardless of his conversion rate Oshie's performance at the Olympics shows he at least has the mindset and moves to be good in the shootout. I don't really follow St. Louis closely enough to know about behavioral issues. Oshie called out his coach last year and whined about practices and meetings. Has terrible attitude issues. He has good stick handling he should be out there every time. As someone else said these guys would practice on Howie and probably converted on 100 percent of there shots so they thought they were good enough.
