Kane case headed to grand jury

It's likely the evidence bag that held the accuser's personal belongings (cell phone, clothes, etc). The girl likely had items returned to her after they were processed & deemed not necessary in the investigation. That would probably explain why the bag had the examining nurse's name on it.

But why leave it at someone's door? That's what I don't understand. Something like that should be hand delivered.

Update: Sedita says accuser went to her mother's home before going to ECMC and changed her shirt. The bag shown yesterday was provided for shirt (note: by a nurse). Sedita says the accuser's mother was the person who left ECMC with the bag, was the last person seen with it and was who claimed having found it

The mother is insane....

This is not very good for the accuser so far...

Nope.

Patrick Kane may or may not have f***ed the accuser -- forcibly or otherwise, but her mother most certainly has with this circus sideshow/hoax.

Eouanno, the accuser lawyer provided the brown paper bag to the mother.. that seems sketchy. He could be in trouble for that.

The media is now blaming the DA for the media circus going on? lol what a joke.

The DA is on point! Has all his facts in order.

My understanding is that the mother was given the 'hospital' bag by the RN who gathered the evidence for the rape kit.

Hamburg PD went to the mother's house; there the police collected the shirt that the accuser had worn when the alleged crime took place, and placed said shirt in a police evidence bag, and the mother kept the 'hospital' bag that happened to have the accuser's name, the RN's name, and the address (not sure if it's the accuser's, or mother's address).

This bag then ends up at Eouanno's office when the mother claims she found it at her home between her storm door/front door.

It's more or less a hoax.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Me thinks the mother was attempting to 'help' her daughter...Not sure what was going on in her head, but then again I'm not involved in a case where my child was possibly sexually assaulted so I could only imagine what 'mom' went thru these past several weeks.

Yeah, it's easy to chalk her off as crazy, but you have to remember the situation she is in. I hope it all clears up.

Her safety mentally and physically is the main focal point at this time, hope things get figured out. As for Kane, if guilty or innocent, may the courts decide accordingly.

And once again, as for Kane, good player, as a person, eh.....

I was under the impression the accuser turned down a settlement. Not sure where I saw that, but if this was a money grab why would she do that?

That has only been speculated by the media. Her lawyer said he would be the last lawyer you would go to when you want to negotiate a civil case; suggesting that he hadn't discussed that.

Has there been any explanation about what the mother was trying to gain by claiming she found the bag?

I think it is to be assumed that it was in reaction to the DNA result. They showed no trace of Kane and so that probably would have killed the case. She was probably trying to cast doubt on the legitimacy of those findings. I'm not sure why she'd think it would work, though, since the real evidence box can be accounted for. Maybe she was playing for the court of public opinion rather than the real courts.

If I were the alleged victim and the crime did take place, I would be *LOSING MY MIND* with anger at my mother for pulling some s*** like this. Now it doesn't matter if a crime took place. Mom's actions (fairly or unfairly) call daughter's credibility into question, and destroy prosecutor's faith in the case. Who wants to take this to trial with the potential for getting egg on your face, even if a grand jury votes to indict? What a ******* sideshow...

Whatever happens, ill tell you one thing. Kane's going to think twice before picking up a girl at the bar and taking her home.

For the rest of his life.

Hell, have you ever seen the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "Broke"? Many professional athletes have been targeted by people who want nothing more than to get a piece of their bank. If that is what is happening here with Kane, then he should consider himself lucky if he isn't prosecuted or found not guilty. This woman probably saw a mark and is trying to extort money from him. Heck, just like the 18 year old model who tried to extort a couple hundred grand from Jagr, these cases are not isolated.

He should be very wary now that he signed that insane deal.
