Predict The Red Wings' 20+ goal scorers for '15-'16

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Tatar (32), Nyquist (28), Datsyuk (24), Zetterberg (22 - hasn't done it in a few season, but I think he's due) & Franzen (20 - based on his health, obviously).

I'm kind of torn on Abdelkader, but I think he'll be one or two shy of 20 goals.

I'm in this camp on Abby as well. His shooting percentage was abnormally high last season and likely not sustainable. He does all the right things though on the ice, so I'm thinking somewhere around 17-18 goals for Abby.

Same here. I figure Abby for around 15-18 goals. Tatar, Nyquist, Datsyuk, will all have 20. Zetterberg and Franzen may each make it to 20 if they're healthy. Beyond that, probably a bunch of guys around 15-20, including Abby, Helm, Richards, Pulkkinen, and Jurco.

Our team offensive may improve overall with Blash behind the bench. But I don't think individual goal totals will fluctuate that much.

This was more in line with your reply "Why do people think Tatar is better then Nyquist lol" post. To me Tatar was the better player last year, Nyquist the year before was better. My numbers above didn't even include possession numbers which Datsyuk and Tatar dominated and finish 1 and 2 on the team. Still think Nyquist will be the better player.

Conclusion: They are way too close to call right now.

I agree 100%

Datsyuk , tatar, nyquist are guaranteed to break 20 imo

If Zetterberg plays center all year then i predict he scores 14 goals.

If he plays Wing he probably can hit 25 with ease.

Green just below 20. Abby possible 20 but not probable.

Franzen possible 20 with minimum injury

I think I'm still on pace for being correct for most predictions. Datsyuk's injury seems to offset the numbers. Looks like I overestimated Green.

Hank, Abby, Tatar and Nyquist I think I hit the ball park with. Hanks on pace of hitting exactly 14 goals hahaha. He ended up being a center afterall.

I think the 4 that are currently on pace to hit 20 will be the ones that get there by end of year (but it's not a given, no one is really projecting to put up too much more than 25). I think it's highly unlikely anyone else hits 20, but you never know as huge totals wouldn't have to be put up to reach it (example, Datsyuk is only on pace for 12 assuming he plays the rest of the games, but he's need to produce at a 29 goal per year rate the rest of the way to get there....it's not likely, but possible) - I also think it would be too optimistic to think he and everyone else would play all remaining games.

Bill, your predictions are extremely optimistic with, not surprising, Larkin leading the way in the overly optimistic category. I must say though, while optimistic, not completely unrealistic.

Green and Kronwall have combined for 4 goals this season. Pahetic. Brad Norton and Cory Cross could probably match that number. And that's supposed to be our two best offensive defensemen.

Yes. These guys chew up all the pp time too. I'd like to see more Smith and Dekeyser on the pp, and less Kronwall.

Amazing they only have 4 goals combined with all that PP time. You'd think they could score more just by randomly throwing pucks in the net and getting bounces.

Nyquist (31)

Tatar (28)

Darayuk (24) playing around 70 games

Abdelkader (21)

Outside chances: Z and Richards

Seems like I was almost right about Nyquist (needs 17 goals in 39 games that's doable for him). Right about Tatar with 28 and Abby needs 8 goals in 39 games to make it.

If Pasha can finally be healthy and become the magic man again, I think he could! still reach over 20 that's a big if and I sadly have to say I don't see it happening.

Our defense just doesn't shoot. How many times you see the puck go to the point and they just play it in behind the net. Our defense is a big reason why our scoring is so low and everyone's number are down. I've never seen a team struggle so much with getting the puck through. The first man usually blocks it up high it's ridiculous. That comes from not playing with your head up, also why our defense can't break a tough forecheck or getting pressured at the blue line

Have you seen Howard on a break away?

Have you seen Howard on a 2 vs 1?

That's why.

Our defensemen have had to play so conservative due to the goalie being a total trainwreck when the puck isnt shot into the logo slowly. Howard gives up a goal almost every single time a pinching defenseman makes a mistake. You're going to see a lot of defenseman afraid to have blocked shots and afraid to go much past the blueline when we dont have the goalie in that can stop a few odd man attacks the other way. Mrazek should help our defensemen become a little more agressive. He is more on league average for goalies against break aways and such.

Not a Howard or D-Man thread....

I belive Tatar and Larkin are shoe in's for 30ish. Nyquist, Z, maybe Abby with 20-25. I seem to be going a bit off on my Mike Green origianl prediction, but I did say it was a bold one! Hey, maybe he'll have an All-Star sencond half!

When's the last time a red wing even hit 30 goals? 09 Hossa?

For whatever reason our guys get so close. Tatar last year (29), Nyquist 2 years ago (28) and Franzen 3 years ago (29) and 4 years ago (28) but the last time someone hit 30 was in 2009 when Hossa, Franzen, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg all did it. Hossa actually had 40 that year.
