Exaggerate much lol. I'm saying he is very good on the PK and a better fit on the 4th line then Jurco. Never said he is a god or the best 4th liner in the history of the NHL (has anyone lol????). You want to discuss coaching philosophies, that is a different conversation. As of October 12, 2015, the 4th line is what it is and given what it is Miller is a better fit then Jurco, that's what I am arguing.

Also, him having 5 goals and being -3 literally has NOTHING to do with his ability on the PK. Being ranked 17th does slightly fall on him, but that is a team PK% not a reflection of one person.

Baring a trade, I do agree that he probably doesn't get re-signed due to cap reasons.

Sorry. I went a bit overboard. Im just excited about our youth and want to see them play. Franzen and Miller dont excite me at all.

Understandable. I am excited too. But they have to do what they think is best for their organization. No matter how mich we "like" certain players, and how much we may "dislike" a player. Blashill could careless about that!

The new coach cant sit 10 million of salary in favor of 3 million. This is why Franzen, Howard, and Miller will play out their contracts. To save a little face for the GM.

I don't really think we're concerned in saving face with big contracts. I mean we just bought out Weiss which is our GM admitting a failed move.

Howard played better than Mrazek in the preseason. That's why he's currently playing. I don't have your crystal ball, but I'd imagine that Howard would be traded if Mrazek takes the job outright in the not to distant future and with the probability of having 2 large goalie caphits. I'll guess that they'll play as a tandem for 2 years at least and Mrazek's big paycheck doesn't come for a while. If Howie plays out his contract splitting for 2 years and as an overpayed backup for 2 that's good with me. Could mean that we don't have to worry about goaltending for a while.

Franzen's future is uncertain and I don't know the likelihood that he'll play out his contract. I just hope he keeps healthy playing the way he has so far.

Miller has (said in Liam Neesan voice) a very specific set of skills. He's the defensive 4th liner, Pker and has done it well so far and one of the big reasons why we survived the parade to the penalty box in this game. I'm seeing that the discussion is more about the need for these types of players. Anyway, Miller's caphit is 1.35 - less than Larkin's. It's just above most prospect money - 450 000 more than Jurco. His place in the roster is definitely not economically motivated. We sent down Eaves in favour of Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan... He was a simliar role and a higher caphit - didn't finish out his deal here.

I don't understand why people keep saying that Jurco has the skills to be a legitimate NHL player, but he hasn't proven he can do so yet... In order to prove something, you need to be given a shot. Jurco hasn't been given a legitimate shot in my opinion and he continues to be misused. I'm very surprised Blash isn't using him properly after what he showed he can do when put in a scoring role. I think it would be a huge mistake to trade Jurco at this point, as I believe he will eventually become a legit top 6 winger. His stock is at an all time low right now. He needs to get into some games and be put in a situation to succeed before you can even think about giving up on the kid.

I don't think we should be looking to trade him either, since as you say, his value would be pretty low right now. But he's had plenty of opportunities. I'll post the numbers later, but he spent quite a bit of time with skilled players. Even on the 4th line, if he really is so skilled, he should be able to produce more than what we've seen from Miller, Eaves, Helm, Glendening, etc. in the past.

There simply isn't room for everyone to play in the top 6 or even top 9. The only two really even debatable in the top 9 right now are Pulks and Sheahan, who are in the same situation as Jurco. Have to "misuse" someone. May even have to get rid of someone before we're really sure what they are. It's just reality.

I think a 4th line of Jurco-Glen-Helm would have a lot of potential. The 4th line may not be the best situation for Jurco's stat line, but it's better than not playing at all.

...

Again, Miller is a great 4th line grinder, do you honestly bevel that Jurco should be in THAT role? I would also love to see Jurco get a legit shot, but not on the 4th line. ...

With Glendening, Sheahan, Abdelkader, and Larkin we don't need more than one of Miller/Andy/Ferraro/Helm in the lineup.
