Hall giving up the turnover because he was so desperate to get an EN leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

That said, we dominated the face off circle and won the shots on goal (admittedly part of that was due to garbage time, but I'll take it). This team looked really, really good after three games and I don't doubt they still have that in them. And that's before Datsyuk comes back. Disappointing loss, but the foundation is there for this team to be a contender. Just have to be more aggressive with our chances and play mistake-free defense.

Switch up the lines. I'd love to see Ouellett over Kindl/Smith, but probably won't happen. Goaltending wasn't an issue again tonight, need to start on time. Please beat these ******* bum Flames on Friday, or I won't hear the end of it from fans who don't have a clue.

Blashill has been making some dumb calls. I still don't get why he plays two lefties on the first pp unit point and 2 right shots on the 2nd. A smart coach would have one on each and green should be on the 1st unit anyway.

On top of that we get a pp with 3 minutes to go and he puts kindl on with Kronner?! Kindl?! Just stupid.

Next game I want kindl out and smith in playing with Kronner. I have always liked them together because Ericsson is a big plug. Put jurco in in the place of feraro as well.

God I can't wait til pav is back.

We haven't played a good game all season

That's just deliberately over the top hysterics. We beat Tampa in a game where we were physical, won the turnover battle, and kept the shots just about even. Tampa. The consensus Cup favorites.

With the exception of the first period at Carolina, all of our wins were earned with solid, consistent hockey. And even in the losses there have been plenty of positives to draw from. Don't disparage the team just because you've become too emotionally attached.

They're ok, but its the fundamentals that are really really letting them down right now. Tatar/Sheahan/Nyquist were our best forwards, actually generating some sort of offence and having zone time.

But still, despite winning face-offs, there were a bunch of turnovers, another maddening too many men penalty, not enough structure defensively, and too many odd man rushes for the Oilers. And they didn't start on time.

To be fair, you have to give Edmonton credit. They played a sound, fundamental game of hockey and got great goaltending from Talbot. Now when was the last time you could say that?

I actually agree with a few others that we need one more big bodied, digger. Either that or we need Jurco to step up in a hurry. I've said before that I don't like any line that has two of Tatar, Nyquist, or Pulkkinen on it. You can now add Larkin to that mix as well. I just don't like two small wingers. I don't think we need some superstar power foward or anything. But with Franzen hurt, and Jurco still struggling, we need another Abby for the second line.

Enter Athanasiou.
