10/30 GDT : Ottawa Senators 3 at Red Wings 1

I watched the Calgary-Ottawa game the other night to get a feel for how we'd stack up against the Senators tonight. I have no idea how this game will go.

Ain't betting nothing. Just observing and hoping the injured key players return ASAP. And that we survive at .500 until the return of atleast Datsyuk and 1 key D-man.

Ill be in my usual seat, 2500 miles away. Go Wings.

I will only be 250 miles away but will also be in my usual seat.

I hope the Wings exhibit some puck control, patience and play like this isn't the first time they have skated together in tonight's game.

I feel good about this one, Wings win 3-1. Larkin, Miller, and Nyquist on the PP.

I'll be at the game. Hopefully the boys show up to play

Dude.

Make a sign.

And if you even think the cameras are looking at you, wave both hands like a mad man with broken wrists attempting jazz hands.

It'll be magic.

I promise.

I also really hope they play well too as well.

I'm glad to see Larkin back with Z. They have been our most (read: only) consistently positive players thus far this season, and more so when they've been together. Let them do their thing and control play. I'm obviously not an NHL coach, but as a fan I've never subscribed to the method of breaking up linemates that are rolling to pick up the play of their under-performing teammates. Good players when given enough time will and should learn to play through their slumps, especially when its players with a past history of success together (i.e. Tatar and Nyquist). Shuffling lines too frequently tends to do more harm than good.

Let the players that are carrying the play continue to build on their momentum. Allow those players in a rut to work their way out of it together and rebuild that chemistry for the long-term good. Don't hide their inadequate play behind the few players that are providing both effort and results. All that does is disrupt things and mask underlying issues. Babcock did that far too much, and so has Blashill thus far.

I have to head out to a haunted house a student is putting on (my 1st chair bass I from districts this year and an all-state alternate last year). Here's hoping I come home to butt pats celebrating a monstrous ass-kicking of the Sens! Let's Go Wings!
