All from various Khan tweets:

Smith not skating today at practice. (unsure why)

Ferraro and Richards also out.

AA still up with the big club

Interesting, Datsyuk skating on line with Zetterberg and Larkin. Abdelkader moved to bottom six. Doesn't mean Datsyuk ready for sure.

Wait no I was only joking.

Spread the talent. Larkin, Datsyuk, Sheahan, Helm down the middle.

Zetterberg-Larkin-Abdelkader

Tatar-Datsyuk-Jurco

Nyquist-Sheahan-Pulkkinen

Glendening-Helm-Athanasiou

That 12 would be hard to keep up with.

Maybe. I guess who knows. What they got now isn't working. Line 3 looks horrendous. And why bench Miller? AA is fast but young and dumb.

Good call. Jurco 100% has earned a spot on Datsyuk's line. Also, I can't wait to see Athanasiou blocking all those shots meant for Miller. If we're lucky, he'll break his ankle or something because that's exactly what he needs to truly complete his development.

I love the snotty attitude. As if you are the final decision on right and wrong. Let me play along Zombo style: Good Call. We've been doing SOOOO well with Miller blocking all those shots. The penalty kill MUST be first in the league, and Miller MUST have a huge + in plus/minus. And why on earth would we want to put a big guy on every line? Jurco-Shehan-Abdelkader as the 4th line, and then lets roll with 9 smaller guys in the top 9. Our offense is so dynamic right now, so who needs a forecheck or dirty goals? And last, Good call on your overall critiquing of others' proposed changes. We've won so many Stanley Cups and have had so much playoff success since 2009. Why would anyone want to try anything different.

Hogwash, dude. Read the post above yours, Zombo. You dont have to agree with me. But please offer an opposing argument that makes sense instead of your irrelevant and unfunny sarcasm.

I agree. I dont like line 3 either, but thats the best we have now. That line REALLY needs developed Mantha instead of Pulkinnen, but Mantha isnt strong enough yet to be a force in the corners. Do you think we should bring him up?

If you're going to play along "Zombo Style" you could start by not sounding like a ranting over-zealous fan-boy.

Yes let's put the leading goal scorer on the third line and the forward and hasn't done much of anything this year on the 2nd line with our best player. Thanks Mr. Holland.

Ok, point taken.

Smith back at practice today or still sick?

Hopefully still sick.

Hence - spread the talent. Stop thinking in terms of line priority and you will open yourself to a new world.

Open my self to the new world? Says one of the most closed minded posters on LGW >.> How's the Miller, Holland, Howard scapegoating been lately? (Blame Miller for all of Detroit's penalty killing woes right)

Anyways, Datsyuk is in no position to start carrying other player's load (Jurco's load). Hence why Blashill is putting him with Zetterberg. We need to generate offense and we need to do it fast. The best combo's need to be laid out. We already have lines that worked in the past.

And I'm not exactly sure what Jurco would bring over Helm/Tatar/Datsyuk combo - Tatar - Datsyuk - Helm was our best line last year.

Jurco needs to prove he's willing to do the work before he gets into the lineup regularly, much less play with Datsyuk.

You don't understand how plus minus works, do you? Muller isn't going to be + very much because his line doesn't score. Player A is on the ice for 90 goals for and 85 against, +5. Player B matches up against scoring lines, is in the ice for 15 goals for and 25 against in a similar amount of ice time. Who's line is better defensively?

Ok, one sec. You are right on Holland. That guy is totally 100% on my shyte list. Holland has wasted so much cap space on dirt crap junk over the last 5 years, he deserves to be fired. His Cleary dealings should also have gotten him fired on a conflict of team interest basis.

Howard, I just dont think he's paid right. That's Holland's fault, but I still have a hard time promoting a back-up who's paid like a starter and plays so inconsistently.

Miller, I cant believe has an NHL job. Again, that's Holland's fault. But get one thing straight - i dont blame Miller for our pk issues. I think he's a pretty good pk guy, actually. I just dont think we need to put any emphasis on our pk by devoting specialists to it. We have a HUGE 5 on 5 problem if you havent noticed. We need more guys who can create offense 5 on 5. Miller is useless in this regard. There are only 12 forwards and 20 total players. Its not like football where you have a 53 man roster and can reserve 3 spots for guys who only play 5 to 10 of the 70 or so offensive plays (punter, kicker, long snapper). Having a pk specialist who is a liability 5 on 5 instead of a threat or at least a stopper is a problem for our team. We simply dont have the scoring depth (or size) that Chicago, Washington, etc. have. Hope that helps clear it up. I dont dislike Miller personally. I just think we need someone, and have someone, better in the 12 spot.

So funny, because we dont have any. 29 goals is our team high.

Total points scored =/= goals.

In any case, 29 goals these days can get you a lot of money as a UFA in today's hockey. Hell 20 goals can get you 5 million easy. Just ask Weiss

And if you're Mike Richards you get 7 million to score 40 or so points in an 82 game season.

Was just watching a top 10 dekes video and Kovalchuk was on it. God, could we use that guy. Can we trade with a KHL team?

Kovalchuck is an NHL free agent. But, for any team to sign him all 30 teams in the NHL have to agree with it. Why would anyone do that, especially NJ?

Kovalchuck isn't as dominant in the KHL, either (from what I've heard)

Guy has to be the biggest floater in NHL history

Floater in hockey terminology just means awesome russian. Fedorov is a floater.

After age 35, kovy is allowed back without any vote needed.. coincidentally, that's when his khl contract ends as well. He'll be back.

I wouldn't take a 35 year old Kovalchuck anyway. His game is built alot around speed and shooting the puck. Skills that go down as you get older.

Guy has Semin/Afinogenov written all over him

(Not saying you want him in Detroit or anything) I didn't even know about the 35+ rule
