Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

Im hoping we get Svechnikov up next year, and his brother 3 years later. A little early, but:

Jurco-Larkin-Athanasiou

Mantha-Svechnikov-Svechnikov

Tatar-Sheahan-Nyquist

Abdelkader-Glendening-Helm

Marchenko-Dekeyser

Jensen-Smith

Ouellet-Kindl

Mrazek

$4.x million Abby on the 4th line? Unlikely! Holland saw to that.

Hat trick in GR tonight. He is not a checker which is how he gets used much of the time.

On a side night GR wins 7-4. Mantha had 2 assists and a fight vs Stu Bickel. Looking for video to see if it was a fight or just 2 guys hugging each other...... Bickel is pretty tough....

If that's the roster 3 years from now what happened to Z? Isn't he signed until 2020 or something?

Berzeench, you have become the Brendan Smith of LGW... You've made so many boneheaded plays (posts) that even when you make a good play (post) it goes unnoticed, and everyone on LGW are just waiting for you to do (say) anything so they can chew you up...

Anyway, I agree with 100% here. Anyone that thinks Jurco has been given a fair shot since his rookie campaign when he was a staple on that third line, clearly haven't been paying attention. The kid has been in and out of the lineup more than anyone, and if he doesn't produce in one game he's out or bumped to the forth line. He's been on a shorter leash than any player on the team, when even when not producing provides much more than many on the team. Jurco is legit, and it's only a matter of time before he breaks into the league as a top 6 winger. This should be a huge confidence boost for him and he definitely needed it. Keep it going kid!

Agreed. He's a stud. And only 22. Sorry if im not the best poster, but i have a lot of love for the wings (like smith). Hope you can like that, at least!

That was his second game back down there. He had one assist in his first game. 3 goals and 2 assists in 2 games. But it's obviously an issue with skill level, the kid just isn't that great at hockey. Please trade this soft euro before he gets a real shot to prove himself in the NHL...

Trade him to a team that will give him good minutes, he'd put up similar numbers as Tatar and Nyquist, Nyquist is the best player overall out of the three but Jurco has more skill and a higher ceiling than them both.

If we are moving one of the three I'd choose Tatar, Tatar Kindl and a 5th for Fowler

My question is, why have you been highly critical of Jurco? Is it because he has never had consistent time in a top 9 role since he was recalled 2 years ago? The fact that he was asked to play a role (4th line grinder) that he never should have been put in? That he was rushed into the league unlike (m)any Red Wings prospects ever do. Or is that he is already 22 years old and if he's not a big time producer yet, he never will be?...

I've been highly critical of Youtube Jurco, but here's hoping some newfound confidence with the Griffs will translate into NHL success IN TWO WEEKS, REPORTERS.

The two weeks thing was just him correcting the reporter. Reporter said at least two weeks, he was just correcting the at least part.

But Miller has 1 assist in 19 games, which earns him a permanent spot in the top 12. I hope we get Miller's 7 year extension wrapped up soon. We dont need offensive players like Jurco. He's expendable as long as we have #20 killing penalties and grinding out 4-8 pts a year.

This is still not correct. He played the beginning of last year on the 3rd line. He had his back problems and the struggles that ensued got him on the 4th line.

That said, I am Jurco's side. He had pretty immediate success when called up, then struggled (partly due to back problems). Those struggles shouldn't define him and mean that he can't get back on the 3rd line.

This is good article from last February. I think it should say give Jurco another shot, but the stats are irrefutable:
