What a bonehead move to change while the other team has the puck at center ice with a full steam ahead. That's just a mistake that is so braindead, you dont even make it in juniors. Thank you, #4. Your hockey IQ is that of the stick tape.

They were gassed, thats why made that Kindly change, it may have favored Dats falling down and it also contributed to Z poor defensive play. It has nothing to do with bad hockey IQ. Overall Kindl played a solid game tonight again.

Z had a pretty bad game by his standards, and I even do not count the OT-goal into that.

Guys who played less than Glendening tonight: AA, Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan, Pulkkinen. We need to stop taking penalties, so that guy gets off the ice.

Mrazek was great again, so was Larkin. We gotta figure out how to generate more offense...

Pretty well played game considering the refs were raping us. Got sloppy in the end and we missed some good opportunities. Frustrating but we were able to secure a point against one of the best teams in the league. Tatar has been a disappointment and the PP needs to get it together, otherwise pretty decent game

I would have liked to see like pav with Larkin or Z with Abby or something like that to start ot. Pav and Z aren't quick to enough for 3 on 3 together. It its 4 on 4 I love pav and Z together. Not a bad game tonight but penalties didn't allow for this team to generate much attack

Yeah Z looked very slow out there. Nyquist is our best 3 on 3 player gotta get him more ice time Edited by joesuffP

Is it only ok to do this to Smith? I have noticed that if Smith does bunny ears on his skate laces instead of loop and swoop, he gets nailed to a cross. Why is Kindl exempt? It's sad, because I actually like both players. I just dont like the double standards.

Yeah right. Right now all you're showing is how hypocritical you're being. You're the only one complaining about Kindl at the moment.

You're talking about double standards and acting like Smith is ragged on but look at what you're doing with Kindl. If you were so mighty and graceful about how players are targeted then how come you're targeting Kindl at this very moment?

Despite having a great game, you're blaming a LINE CHANGE that he made (which BTW is warranted on a long shift on 3 on 3 and when the puck has cleared the center). Kindl WAS our best D-man tonight and either you didn't watch the game except for overtime or you're trying to bait since you know your homeboy Smith is in LGW and Blashill's doghouse.

For those of you complaining about Datsyuk and Zetterberg starting OT. Remember, 3-on-3 is as much about possession as it is speed. Those guys are pretty good at keep away. But they had off nights. But so did most of the forwards except Helm and Sheahan and you're sure as s*** not going to start them in OT.

I thought Helm had his best game in a year.

I'm also mad at Pulkkinen for not doing the only thing he's supposed to be good at on that breakaway. Although he had Holtby beat.

I also want to bitchslap the snot out of Tatar. It's games like this that make me want to trade his ass for Blake Wheeler.

I say give Ouellet a chance, Kindl has been ok but those awful passes he makes have costed us a lot.

Ericsson and DK have played worse than him as of late. Kindl's passing hasn't been the cause of much issue in terms of goals scored against us as of late.

1 shot in 17 Minutes and a minus that Kronwall took for him. I am curious who our worst Dman was in your mind. Kindl was invisible to me.

I agree, DK had an off night. I believe Kindl is a bit over agressive with his passing, I thought Datsyuk fell because Kindl's pass was not where he expected it and lost balance. Also he was in charge of guarding Kusnetzov when he made te change. But eh, if he's been responding and getting better every game, then stick to the process and hopefully we can see results soon, our defense needs to step up since it has been relying a bit too much on our goalies. Can't really use stats to look at "visibility" on ice. Makes zero sense. But since you asked for it I guess I can be illogical too for a second here.

Green - 1 giveaway, Zero blocks

Marchenko - 1 giveaway 3 blocks WITH 5 minutes on PK time (which increases your block rate)

Kronwall - minus 1 zero on blocks, takeaways and giveaways across the board.

Dekeyser - 1 giveaway. 4 PIM.

Ericsson - 1 giveaway

Kindl - 1 block (without any PK time) Zero giveaways.

Ive always liked Kindl. Just illustrating a point.

Contradicting yourself there eh? So much for "just illustrating a point"

He had a shot and a block. Ticker Tape parade time. Like I said, invisible.

You asked who our worst D-man was and you got your answer through your own statistics you decided to throw in. Comparatively he did better than the rest. Yet you've got nothing to say about the other 5 guys.

They are both +3. Kindl has 3 more pts. Easily explained. More games and more pp time. Kindl has won us an OT game, and he's lost us an OT game. Tonight, he decided to sub out while his team was playing man defense. Such a terrible gaff.

Advanced metrics show Kindl is the superior one. Not sure if you know what that is.

Still waiting on this flip flop justification.

You do realize you're losing credibility here. Just like with your Miller situation.

Right and what did the other D-men have? Refer to my earlier post I've neatly laid it out for you.

Comparatively Kindl was better.

Maybe he was invisible to you because he wasn't giving up the puck like others were.

You know who never is invisible? Smith. You know why? Cause he's always making VISIBLE boneheaded plays :)

Nope. Once again you're wrong. And I'll break this down for you.

At approximately 3 seconds Kindl is pushing up to back off the Washington defense. He's heading towards the bench and Kronwall is coming in as he is closest to our goalie. At this point Niskenen has the puck.

At approximately 4 seconds #92 (Kuznetsov) on Washington who is the eventual goal scorer is DATSYUK'S man. Kusnetsov overskates Datsyuk and goes around him. At this point Niskenen passes the puck to a speeding Kuznetsov who just got rid of his coverage behind him (Datsyuk).

Zetterberg's original coverage is #27 but as #27 steps off ice, Zetterberg has to cover the speeding Kusnetsov thru the lane.

Kuznetsov jukes Zetterberg. All this while both Datsyuk (whose original man to cover was Kuznetsov to begin with) Kronwall are trying to catch up at the same time but can't. At this point Kuznetsov scores.

That was a complete breakdown by the eurotwins. Mostly Zetterberg's fault.

There's 3 Red Wings around Kuznetsov when he scored. That was a soft play by all of them.

Ha ha ha ha. The whole WORLD thinks Kindl made a bad decision to change when he did. You are hilarious with your bias.

Zetterberg had a bad night overall, not just in OT. There were quite a few uncharacteristic giveaways in the offensive zone.

I do think it's worth mentioning that despite what the outcomes of some of these more recent games has been, the Wings generally appear to be trending up in their game compared to earlier in the season. More shots on net, more offensive zone time, more crisp breakouts. If they keep on the path they're going, this club should easily get into the playoffs.

Hah good response when you've gotten proved wrong.

Whole world? Prove it. I'd like to see some sources.

Even so to use the "whole world" as your argument is a simpleton approach to a debate at best. You've got nothing to back up your claims as you never do with Drew Miller etc.

who gives a s***. The Wings didn't lose this game because of Kindl. They lost the game because the Capitals took over the game in the 3rd and OT. You could see it coming, and if it wasn't for Mrazek, the game wouldn't even have gone to OT.

The Wings played well in the first 2 periods, but just looked like they almost gave up in the 3rd. The Caps were winning all the puck battles, had way way too much O zone time, and just wanted it more. It was just like waiting for the inevitable to happen. At least we had to wait til OT so at least we got a point.
