frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted November 24, 2015 Wow that's surprising thought the Leafs would the most valueable franchise again. conclusions from this list: - Wings are (again ) worth the least from all Original 6 franchises - the league wants 500 mill expansion fee yet only 11 teams are worth more than 500 mill, 6 of them being original 6 teams. Dream some more NHL.. - with the exception of the Habs all Canadian teams lost some value (very surprising) - surprised that the Pens aren't worth more with that much talent 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted November 24, 2015 Well I'm not going to comment because I don't really know how the list works (for example, will the new rink make a difference?). Also, I don't care.

kliq 3,755 Report post Posted November 25, 2015 Canadian dollar is in the toilet, so that's to be expected. It really does suck right now! The last time I had to exchange some money the rate was $1.34 Can = $1 US.
paulwoodsfan 52 Report post Posted November 25, 2015 To me the disturbing part is not the valuation but the operating profit. Only $3.7M on revenue of $135M is a pitiful return that does not bode well for selling the team when the time comes. Mike Illitch (and family) has been a very generous and indulgent owner. Hope we continue to have one of those in the future.

But you are right that revenue number is very low. That being said an Original 6 franchise will always sell well because the following is there it the question is will the buyer go the extra mile and even beyond that to bring the cup back...and judging by some owners in the NHL a lot aren't
Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted November 25, 2015 It's weird to see this list without the Leafs at the top, however, with the recent success of the Rangers and the Canadiens, I suppose it's not surprising especially since the Leafs suck and the Toronto market is now getting teams that aren't s***ty anymore with the Raptors and Blue Jays.
