Well it's one of the issue, Errorson, Q, Abdelkader are guys who are overpaid but have no value in trade market due to their salaries and the way they are playing.

This team is (at the best) playoff contender and far from being Stanley Cup contenders. Kenny's goal is to make the playoff and that's it.

There's a lot of truth to what you're saying.

If we had a bunch of big guys, people would be complaining, saying that we're too slow. The Wings have a history of success with speedy teams, we should stick with it.

As for our flaws, the defense looks weak. Holland is relying on the defense getting built up through prospects because good defenseman are hard to come by these days and the good ones are getting overpaid. Honestly though, our defense is irrelevant if neither Howard or Mrazek step it up. Everybody remembers how great Mrazek was at the end of last year, but before that he was really inconsistent, like he is now. Howard is looking like the next Jim Carey. Unfortunately, Howie's contract makes him untradable and Mrazek is too young to give up on, so we're pretty much stuck.

We had a success with mixing speed AND GRIT.

Scotty was quick on roster needs and repairs (Shanny trade which changed our face and gave us couple of cups, and dlthat trade wasbdone because the Avs were tougher than us).

Saying that we were not big and physical and only fast team is WRONG CALL.

In a pre-salary cap era, sure. That wasn't hard to do back then.

I don't give a sh*t about back to backs or how many games in how many nights we play. Can we please go with Mrazek for 5-6 games in a row and let him roll. He is our best goalie...end of story.

Isn't that basically the case now? Mrazek has started four of the past five and Howard's only start was the second half of a back-to-back. I would say the timeshare is all but dead already.

I want it to be perma dead lol. We play the 4th and the 7th, two days off and then back to back in Cali. Let him play all of those games. He's a big boy I think he can handle it.

He gave Primeau and Coffey more salary than he took on it. He had a balls to make trades... Something which Kenny is missing. Kenny is not team builder, he's more maintenance manager...

I agree he had the balls to do it but it's not possible to make trades like that now. We can't just chop a couple of guys out of our lineup and trade some prospects and picks for 4-5 million salary without sending some the other way.

We have overpaid/overevaluted players in Errorson, Quincey, Abdelkader, Kindl, Howard... These guys have no value in market... Kenny evaluated and signed them.

How Chicago became one of the best team in last decade (since Scotty joined his son as supervisor)? They have dealt a ton of important players: Ladd, Buff, Campbell... and thay are still CUP contenders.

Dallas (Jim) is also doing pretty well for the last 2-3 years and they are still getting better.

Montreal (Bergevin), another exemple of GM who is not afraid of making moves and if BAD move is done he will fix it (Kassian).

It's wrong to say that trades cannot be done anymore.

When we lose LGW logic is to blame Blashill. When we win LGW logic is to blame Holland.

Never change LGW.

I said that Blash was outcoached by Bylsma... and if you are satisfied with this "win" than your expectations are very low, like picking top 10 in next draft. However, I respect your opinion.

True. Our grit played a factor in the win over the Avs and to some extent the Caps. However, it was our speed that beat the Flyers in 97. It was our speed that gave us our record breaking regular season in 96. It was our speed that led us to the 95 Finals. Our 08 and 09 teams were all speed and they nearly won back to back Cups. I'm a little hesitant to give up speed for size.

Our coach plays 2 goalies. How can 1 of them be consistent? Howard is a huge brain fart on Holland. But the coach cant expose the GM and not play the guys he signs.

Just to make is simple, we had to play Avs before finals. As far as I remember, didn't Kocur scored SH goal in the finals? Darren McCarty scoring a beauty in game 4? Konstantinov huge hit on Hawerchuk... Physicality, speed and skills were all mixed well... Edited by Dominator2005

I think the ice time of the Dmen says a lot about what's about to happen with this team. 65-47 led today. 52 was the low man do to him being awful. 27 is on his way back. Will Blashill actually sit a core get on this squad of the past? I gotta think Balsh is seeing the writing on the wall as far as the vets-rookie dynamic is concerned. More 21, 15, 71, 2, 25, less 13, 55, abd 52.

40 and 13 need speed with them.

Big guys just aren't ready yet. Don't even seen any good physical players coming up either. Since 2010 the playoff streak has been more of a curse for us. This rebuild took an extra 3 years because of it

TOOK? Is the rebuild over?

In a pre-salary cap era, sure. That wasn't hard to do back then.

Why didn't every team do it then?
