Mrazek was great. He does a lot of little things that really help the defense when the puck is around the net and he made the big saves when he needed to.

The Wings didn't look very dangerous, but that could be because of New Jersey's stifling style of play. The E and Kronwall pairing was no doubt the worst but I'm optimistic that E just needs time to improve, also doesn't help they were playing a very good, physical forecheck. Smith looks confident out there and making the smart plays in his own zone.

Pretty sure Marchenko led the Wings in ice time again? If this kid had the same amount of hype when he entered the league as DD I wonder what the depth chart would look like. If any defensemen is struggling just stick Marchenko on his pair and he'll turn it around. He's the Larkin of defensemen

if his not in when q gets back there is no justifying this team

The stats do not support your Marchenko analysis, but damn it, my eyeballs agree with your eyeballs. I love the DeKeyser Marchenko pairing and hope it sticks together a long time.

Petr should probably play in San Jose but get Jimmy some action too. A motivated Jimmah is a scary Jimmy

We need them both to be good to be successful. I'm definitely no fan of Jimmy (lately), but we need to get him some starts and hopefully get him some confidence.

Yeah I don't want Jim to sit too long, especially after his last two outings.

Agreed.

Not a barnburner or perfect game by any means, but if we're going to play a one goal game that's the kind of effort we need to see...

To the very end, if not even harder at the very end.

larkins goal highlight of the year

a beaut' for sure.

In all honesty I rarely look up stats. I think his ice time is very telling though, or maybe it's more telling of Kronwall?

Just as a certain user predicted about 3 years ago, Petr will push Jimmy out of his #1 spot within two years. It was a year behind, but hey, us Petr slappies knew talent when we saw it. Jimmy's annual choke job come season's half way point happened again, and Blash had no problem turning him into the backup. Jimmy Howard, backup goalie. How many times can we (and I mean all the folks that get berated on here about certain players and injuries and etc...) how many times can we be right?

Anyhow, great win, great shutout and yes, I am partying a bit, but oh well! Here's another one to you! Cheers!

How long until Jimmy requests a trade?
