LeftWinger 4,953 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) ...he needs to stay in the lineup! His line was awesome yesterday, have Tatar and Jurco on his line was very entertaining and they had 2 goals! OR was it Nyquist and Jurco? Maybe it was both combos at times, but still AA needs to stay here, I liked Sheahan on the 4th with Glenny, they would be great with Miller. 13dangledangle 960 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 Agreed he should stay in the line up, he looked great! I loved his speed and the way he handled the puck, reminds me of Helm with hands.
LeftWinger 4,953 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 not to turn this into a trade debate, but as with Glenny and Sheahan, now the graduation of AA has really made Helm tradable. He is a UFA, he will get $4M+, you can have half a bottom 6 for less than the price cement hands would cost you. Having so much speed is great, but if you have nothing else its worthless...much like a woman will tell you its great if you have a large, ahem, but if you don't know how to use it, its all for nothing. Helm can skate north and south with the puck fast as anyone, but he just dumps it in, or shoot towards the net and missess most times. AA has made him expendable, he may have also bumped Pulk out of a top 9 spot. It's time to go with the cheaper better versions. Re-sign Miller (our PK needs him) and then got with Miller - Sheahan - Glenny on the 4th. Stick with Tatar - AA - Nyquist (unless he gets dealt.) AA needs to stay, if it means keeping Andersson out, then that's a bonus as well!

AA needs to stay, if it means keeping Andersson out, then that's a bonus as well! Helm being Helm makes Helm trade-able, regardless of who else is on the roster. Not so sure he'll get $4M+, or even $3M or any raise at all, if he doesn't start scoring, but that's beside the point. But I think you may be allowing the final score of the game color your enthusiasm for AA. We scored a couple of goals when he was on the ice (one of which he didn't do anything), but the line really wasn't all that good. Only 7 shot attempts, and not particularly dangerous. He was pretty good in his first stint though, and I wouldn't be against him staying for a bit. Though that's mostly because half of our top nine are poor goal scorers, rather than AAs own merits. Pulk hasn't been in a top nine spot since a few games before his injury though. It was Sheahan he bumped. Now if Blash would bump Helm or Richards for Pulks we might be on to something.
