joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 Nyquist is a good offensive player but he does not have many moves in his Arsenal. A few good ones and that's it. Have you ever seen him raise a backhand ever?
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 we suck at shootouts, they KNOW this... so why not finish it in regulation? Got a loser point, at least. Sunday and Monday are very iffy, in my opinion, back to back mid-day games, second on the road. I am not optimistic. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 Again, should'nt have gotten to the SO. can't believe they only got 1 point outta all those chances to end it. Mraz looked good..could'nt finish it. Varly looked hurt..guess not. Bounces just didn't go our way. It happens.

chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 Most atrocious Shootout franchise in the NHL. Three straight years without practicing shootouts. Yeah, you'd think with Z, Dats, Larkin, Goose, Tatar, Richards, Abby they'd be lighting it up. Bounces just didn't go our way. It happens. Indeed.

Have you ever seen him raise a backhand ever? He tries that soft five hole on ice backhander everytime. lol Varly knew to just keep his stick on the ice. barabbas16 499 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Perhaps... missing out on the 2 points tonight will drive them to make sure they win on Sunday. And on the 27th... Edited February 13, 2016 by barabbas16

Have you ever seen him raise a backhand ever? Not many players have a strong backhand. Who on our team even does? Dats and Zet are probably the better ones in the league with it. Thats about it. Everyone else has more of a slapper (Richards, Green, Pulk, Kronner etc) Edited February 13, 2016 by kickazz
NerveDamage 4,176 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Just finished watching the game, and reading the comments, and feeding my dog. Anyways, coulda, shoulda, woulda, but.... What a great game! Really felt like days of not so old, he says out loud to reassure himself. Aside from the shootout loss, we all said f**k at the end of ot, I liked what I saw, 40+ shot game? not ofen we get that, the euro twins + Abby styling it up, D-Boss' and AA's speed and puck awareness, Smith (Bill-train holla) charging on the pp, another aMrazin' perfomance by Petr. They're shaping up, I rather have them practice fore and back checking rather than shootouts. Nyquist is just a bit off, what was his shootout percentage last year? I forget... I think this team has great potential and needs to stick to the process and stay clear from that trade frenzy. My craaazy prediction is that "this" team will reach the 12th before Montreal gets their 25th. Jersey Wing 1,521 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 Follow me here, I got it all figured out. I read this this morning on the Twitter:NHL Public Relations @PR_NHL 30s30 seconds ago Per @EliasSports: @Avalanche Semyon Varlamov is 14-3-3 in 20 career regular-season GP when making 40 or more saves. So, ipso facto, if the Wings, or whomever take like only TEN shots on goal, this guy is a statistical sieve. Don't shoot on net most of the time, just pass it back and forth or play the board game for no good reason = WIN! 3 puckloo39, derblaueClaus and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Don't shoot on net most of the time, just pass it back and forth or play the board game for no good reason = WIN! It makes sense. If he makes 40+ saves in a game, he's giving his team a good chance to win. I bet most goalies share a similar win percent in 40+ save games
