Price out for the year in MTL

Holland has flat out stated we're keeping Howard for the whole season.

It's an offseason decision.

Take that with a grain of salt. If there is a player you want to get rid of, giving off the perception that you dont want to move him only increases your bargaining power. I guarantee if someone offers him a trade that involves a good player or pick coming our way with no salary retention, he pulls the trigger.

I don't think Holland is actively trying to trade him, but I think he would make the move if the right move came to him.

For sure. I just think the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

Goalie market is very weak.

you really think mtl would want howard with price done? if so who could we want from them thats worth the trade i know who i want but that will never happen

No, because Howard going there maybe takes them from 10th seed to 8th seed. My example is a team that feels they can win the cup, but with an injury wont be able to and Howard can be the difference maker. It probably wont happen, my example is what needs to happen for him to be traded soon.

Khudobin, Ramo and Scrivens all passed through waivers this season and have much smaller contracts.

Obviously Howard has been better than those guys so who knows.

Scrivens was picked up by Montreal, wasn't he?

Either way, if a team like LA lost Quick for the year and needed someone they could trust that had the capability to lead them to a cup by not necessarily being elite, but solid, none of those guys would suffice.

Though Howard's poor play as of late is definitely hurting this argument. We need him to start playing well.

No he passed through. Later they dumped Kassian for him after Condon didn't do so hot.

I just don't think thats likely to happen n the next 15 days. Stranger things have happened though.

You're probably right, I admit I would be surprised if it did.
