Just wanna top off the night by saying that this game was more than two points. 3-4 something in my opinion as we won over a direct division rival, ie we got two they lost two.

I'd like to hear whatup with Mrazek tonight, I for one do think he was slightly hungover. Doesn't take much, even a small one can hamper the hand-eye coordination, especially at the NHL level.

The turnaround time between today's game and tomorrow's has to be a league record. They might as well stay up and keep working out, just pretend it's a long intermission -- with travel involved.

Very few of us have the day off tomorrow - at least, no one I know does - so the noon game will not have many viewers, I expect.

Niggling worry: Datsyuk leaving the ice during the last shift. I see no report about his health... but until I do, I will worry.

I'm not sure about that. I think it was just a rare off-game.

Blash said he expects pav to be okay to play tomorrow.

Glad to hear Blashill says Pav should be OK. I missed this one due to taking my wife out for Valentine's Day to see Pretty In Pink in the theater (rereleased for its 30th anniversary and it is her favorite movie).

Sounds like Olczyk was in rare form (f him with a barbed rubber phallus), the Bruins were their douchy selves, Mrazek had a rare off day (historically he comes back from one of those with a monster game), and the boys pulled out an important two points against a divisional opponent. What happened to Nyquist and Pav injury-wise?

was it the good ending (where Duckie and Andie end up together) or the hollywood one? haha.

The way I see it mrazek has won several games for us this season by standing on his head, when the rest of the team was snoozing at times. Tonight mrazek wasn't at his best but the guys all stepped up and won this game for mrazek. King Henrik , price, rinne and quick have all had games like this. When it came down to it in the 3rd petr made a few timely key saves to keep us in the lead. The game wasn't pretty but the team came together.

Like others have said petr always responds with a lights out game after a rough outing so I would actually like to see petr play again tomorrow. I think he will see lots of rubber tomorrow being back to back and he will be up to the task.

President's Day matinee

that's not what I call it. I have to work, as do most people. A noon game on a "holiday" which only federal and some state employees get? Seriously? The "Team in red" as NBC calls them (aka the Red Wings) will have their work cut out for them.

For those of you who are retired or otherwise exempt from working for a paycheck.... enjoy.

Well, I work weekends. Which most people don't. So I'll take this Monday Matinee. :D I just wish it were in Detroit so I could go.

So, here is a funny from HFBoards

Just finished watching and I didn't want to read through this whole thread, but I'd like to believe that I'm not the only one who that considers Detroit to be one of the dirtiest teams in the league.

Datsyuk is a piece of garbage and the leader of the trip, hook and slash brigade that is the Red Wings.

The refs were typically awful as well, but of course the two go hand in hand. If the refs were capable of calling a good game, the Wings would be less likely to continue to pull the garbage that they do.

remember when we used to have opposing team fans come in on the GDT to jab back and forth with us? I miss that!
