How much lockout time did Pavel, Hank, and Nick miss? Their stats would be even more amazing.

Hank and Pavel missed 82 games in 2005 and 34 in 2013, so 116 games total.

Lidstrom missed that, plus an additional 34 or 36 games depending on how you look at it (the season prior to the 1995 lockout was 84 games, after the lockout was 82 games) so he missed 150 games or 152 games.

It sucks that stats are effected by the annoying lockouts.

That goes both ways. In one sense, those guys would have scored more points, but would also have more wear and tear, leading to an earlier retirement. Lidstrom already looked ordinary during his final season.

I thought it was over 100, but it is a crying shame how much great hockey was missed due to those lockouts from all the top players.

I dont think so, they missed a year in their prime. I think any player would be more productive in their prime then in the tail end of their career. If Datsyuk plays in 2005, he likely does not play in 2017, Datsyuk in 2005>2017.

Sure he could have suffered a major injury in 2005, but I think probability is on the side of a productive season.

I'm just saying that Lidstrom would likely have retired a year or two earlier.

I'm pretty sure Hank and Pav played during the lockout years overseas so wear and tear wouldn't have mattered. It's not like they took the year off.

Good point, I didnt even think about that. If anything, its even more impressive. Hank I know for sure played overseas because I remember he played with Brunner.

Yeah and in 2004 he played in Timra for the season and the playoffs as well actually. Datsyuk played for Dynamow in 2004 the season and also the playoffs. In 2013 Datsyuk played 31 games for KHL. These two guys never really took a break from hockey. Whereas I think Lidstrom actually took the entire 2004 season off.

I think had they gotten the lost time back Datsyuk would probably be over 1000 points and Z would be somewhere in the 940 /950 range. Especially because when they lost time in 2004 that would have literally been their first "prime" year since when they came back in 2005 they both hit like 85+ points. 2004 was supposed to be their breakout year but it ended up being 2005.

come on thats not fair i love larkin but its still to early to tell if he will be as good i think he will be very very close but maybe not better than dats

Not to put words in anyone's mouth, but to be fair,it sounds like he is posing the question "is Larkin in 2016 better then Datsyuk in 2016", not is Larkin better then Datsyuk in his prime.

Either way, my answer would still be no. I think Larkin is the more consistent player in 2016 due to him healthier/younger, but if we were in a game 7 and I could only have one or the other, I am taking Datsyuk every time.
