Or Nyquist.

He was a lot better than Tatar I'll tell ya that, but both are just so disappointing

What would keep him from staying up? When Miller comes back? Not sure how some of this roster and cap stuff goes...

Miller is done for the year, plus after deadline rosters expand I believe

Penalty kill is now 14th and climbing. Was 17th. 4th line is now shutting the opposition down again and creating offense. Was getting scored on and creating nothing. MILLER IS NOT AS GOOD AS ATHANASIOU. SPEED KILLS. DO YOU ALL BELIEVE ME NOW?!!!

Would you have taken Emerton over AA?

Game Stars:

#1 Riley (the MAN) Sheahan

#2 Jenner ('cause he managed to score the CBJ only goal)

#3 DeKeyser (ok....I guess)

I would have picked AA for a star, personally. And the crowd at the Joe, honorable mention. Glad the Wings won for them. :ok:

Bruce Jenner?

That's a great video. However, when reading the forum on a smart phone, to move the page up/down, we must use the finger too often to read through the page and it takes time... If you understand what I mean.

I do, to a degree, I sometimes check it on my mobile but haven't used tapatalk. I agree that sometimes when quoting the image repeats itself in the reply and how it could be bothersome. Nonetheless I also believe that limiting others on what or how to express to a certain medium is wrong. I feel that, sometimes, an image conveys better an idea, but what do I know...

It's frustrating that a first year coach thinks he is the chops to be using all these obscure unproven strategies and is stubborn about it. He hasn't proven anything in the NHL yet and he's throwing out these "overmaching" lineups that haven't worked. Give the guys who score and keep the puck out of our net play the most minutes. He needs to simplify things big time

A few random thoughts from the game:

  • Columbus did not play like a team on the second of a back-to-back. They came to play.
  • Outside of the BJs playing the trap from the get-go (which I abhor), their defense was awesome. Excellent job in both zones. I was jealous.
  • A Squared has the speed and stickhandling down well. He very much needs to work on passing and not making desperate plays that lead to turnovers.
  • Wings played for s*** the first period and a half and then *wham* good pressure in the offensive zone, nice smart plays and what is this? actual backchecking?! Who flipped what switch and why isn't someone manning it constantly?
  • Whether they score or not, Hank and Dats are masters of studly play.
  • Lidstrom - can't stress enough how much we miss him. So glad he came. He was very gracious and said a lot of great things about the fans. He will always be The Perfect Human.
  • Kudos to all in attendance last night. The crowd was frickin' awesome!

Couldn't of said it any better!

That was a massive 2 points and that overtime was beyond awesome. Good chances both ends.

A guy like Gus scoring 25+ goals his first three years in the league is no small feat. He may not hit it this year but expecting him to blossom into a 90 point guy was a little unrealistic in today's NHL. Gus looks snake bitten to me. He has played very well his last 10 games but he's not finding the back of the net. I will say after the 20 game mark his play took a nosedive and he didn't appear to be doing anything positive but I think he's turned it around

Tatar on the other hand hasn't done anything positive with the puck in weeks. He's fighting it every step of the way

They are both good players but I think expectations were set too high. They are 20-25 goal scorers (or high 20s) but they won't be guys that will carry the team.

Our 35 and 37 year old are still the ones who do that carrying job. Oh and Mrazek.
