DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 He has 1 point, is -8 over his last 11 games, and has looked slower than early on. He's either hit the wall hard or has a sore groin or something. Let him sit a game or two and get his legs under him again for the stretch run.
kipwinger 8,440 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 Its not unprecedented. If I recall correctly Zetterberg was scratched as recently as 2006 or 2007.

frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 I think the grind is just catching up to him , he's never played so much hockey at such a high level before so it has to be expected. I think giving him 2 games of would be fine
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Its not unprecedented. If I recall correctly Zetterberg was scratched as recently as 2006 or 2007. Really? I don't remember that. Weird. I felt like 2006 and 2007 were the start of his best years. He has 1 point, is -8 over his last 11 games, and has looked slower than early on. He's either hit the wall hard or has a sore groin or something. Let him sit a game or two and get his legs under him again for the stretch run. Maybe put him and Z back together if not rest him? TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 I think a game or two to rest would be a good idea, better if there was more of a buffer for the playoff seed. I do like the reunion with Hank idea.

kliq 3,755 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 If he's hurt, I think its definitely a good idea. If he's feeling 100% but just in a slump, I would have him play through it. I dont get the impression that its from lack of trying.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 Being the only player showing up every game will do that. Every player goes through extended slumps. Usually there is secondary scoring to help pick up the slack. Or at least other primary scoring.
kliq 3,755 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 Amen He looks slower than he did earlier. I don't think he's 100% I was at the Chicago game the other day, and he still seemed like he was flying. Not saying your wrong, he very well could be.
Bill Berzeench 310 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 I was at the Chicago game the other day, and he still seemed like he was flying. Not saying your wrong, he very well could be. Larkin isnt hurt. He's basically killing penalties right now on a line with Richards. You can see Larkin is frustrated. The coach is doing him and the team a huge disservice by not putting Richards in the pressbox. It's time for Ant Man.

vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted March 9, 2016 Richards sucks. It's easy to see. Why do they keep poisoning Larkin with this guy? You really kind of had to reach on that one. chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 Richards doesn't "suck". He is past his prime, which is unfortunately when the Wings sign guys with his skills..when they are no longer effective. Just a few years ago he was in the top ten in the league in points.

puckbags 863 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) Same thing has happened with Mrazek, not used to playing this many games at such a high level. Bill Berzeench 310 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 Ok. Sit Larkin. Double shift Richards. Might as well flame out huge instead of keeping playoff hopes alive.
