Is this a coaching problem? The players have not been ready to play the last few games. From what I see, the defence, especially DD, is horrid. This is a passionless group of players. Tatar and Nyquist have been the greatest disappointments this year and can be specifically pinpointed to the Wings downfall.

It's a mindset problem....part of which is coaching, but it's the front office too.

there needs to be new ideas and a fresh start. NO better time than to start now...fire everyone, don't resign anyone who has a contract coming due that is older than 30 years old and rebuild.

This is actually funny, I talked about all this crap in the beginning of the season and got chastised for it, and now listen to you all! Called me a troll for being honest about the team, how poetic!

Last year the wings were in a slump in march and into april

Don't forget May June and July. Somehow the doctors couldn't see Datsyuk's ankle issue until seeing it a second time and Holland was busy making our team "better".(Green/Richards)

It's a franchise slump.

They're a physical, bang-it-out team, and they've drawn us into playing their game. Detroit has an identity - speed, skill, defense-oriented - and they just don't seem to know how to force that identity on others. This, to me, is why they always seem to start late. Not sure what the solution is, but we can't hang with Philadelphia if we make this game about who can hit harder. We have to play our game.

Also, Schenn was going down before he even got touched. Surprised no reciprocal diving call, to be honest.

Our game does not work.

I agree that's there is a mentality issue with the Wings. They still believe everything will be ok if they are just overly professional and methodic. The problem is they don't have the skill for that mentality anymore. They need someone with fire in their belly to lay in to the team.

That would be Pete Van Zant aka the trainer's fault who told Datsyuk to just "rest" his leg. Until he finally had him see the surgeon who immediately took him to surgery.

Skill? Defense oriented? What season are you watching?
