derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) Detroit Red Wings @DetroitRedWings UPDATE: The #RedWings have called up Jared Coreau from the @griffinshockey. Reasons have yet to be disclosed. I wonder what is behind this. Mrazeks groin again ? Edit : Khaaaaaaaan has it : Ansar Khan @AnsarKhanMLive #RedWings have recalled Jared Coreau from Grand Rapids for tonight's game at Columbus. Mrazek is sick and questionable. Not good. Mrazek is one of the if not the reason we are still in the playoff race. Let's hope All Star Howard shows up tonight. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 One could argue Mrazek is also a reason they are slipping. He's given up 5 goals 3 times in the last 11 games....in his first 38 games that didn't happen a single time. Of course, I'm no naïve enough to think that's all on Mrazek, it's a function of team play as well. 1 frankgrimes reacted to this
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) Blessing in disguise perhaps. Howard comes in with the clutch maybe? Will we see 2013 Howard who got us into the playoffs with a dozen games left? Edited March 17, 2016 by kickazz
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 Howard's past few games have been pretty solid if I recall correctly. This should be a good opportunity to build on that.
LeftWinger 4,959 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 The latest fall is not on the goalies. Howard and Mrazek have both played well enough to win all of their last few starts. It's on Holland for not making the team better and Blashill for not putting the right guys together. Not benching or demoting guys to lower lines for playing with no heart and like garbage. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted March 17, 2016 So Howard's in for sure? "When the morning skate began, per Roose... Jimmy Howard is on the ice right now at Nationwide Arena. No sign of the #RedWings other goalie, Mrazek."

I'd say we just dropped another 2% on that playoff chart.Yeah because the guy who some called elite after a few great games has been lights out lately...With the exception of King Henrik and a healthy Cary Price there isn't a goalie who could do well behind that defense and undersized offense period. Mrazek could very well be as good as those two. It's only his first full year and he's played very well. Two years from now if he's at that level, what will you have to say then? I'll have to remember this quote Frank! 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

King Henrik has been the class of his generation for such a long period of time now that's almost unfair to match, even Price will have trouble holding up that standard for so long. Although he obviously has the potential and yes you can easily quote me on that

Although he obviously has the potential and yes you can easily quote me on that I dont get why you are so ridiculously low on our young guys Frank, Mrazek has been great this year. You are saying he will never be as good as Lundqvist, yet in his first season as a starter he is putting up better numbers. I'm not saying his is better, but you are really really downplaying his accomplishments this year. Lundqvist: 31-18-5......2.35 GAA.......92.2 Save % Mrazek: 26-15-6.......2.21 GAA........92.4 Save % Not to mention, Mrazek is playing in front of a defense that you consider horrible, while Lundqvist has one of the best defenses in the league in front of him. What does the guy have to do to get your respect? 2 DatsyukianDekes and krsmith17 reacted to this

What does the guy have to do to get your respect? Cmonnn it's Frank. Toews could put up 5 goals in an 82 game season but he would still be the third best player in the league. You know why? BECAUSE TSN SAID SO! Doesn't matter what Mrazek's stats are. King Henrik is god. He's Zeus. He's a king and a god. Edited March 18, 2016 by kickazz
chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted March 18, 2016 What happened to my boy McCollum? Leapfrogged twice. By Mrazek and now Coreau. It's too bad, because he looked really promising at the time he was drafted. Then again, he hasn't even started an NHL game yet, so he hasn't been given a fair shot. I'd like to see him get it. If he's sick, i'd rather him not play or be on the bench. With a goalie with as much skill and potential as Mrazek you don't want to take unnecessary chances with his health, especially with Howard and Coreau good to go. What does the guy have to do to get your respect? He doesn't look at stats or analyze any data. He just says things with no support. Mrazek was in Vezina talk this year until he had a bad stretch. He is a top 5 goalie this year and is only going to get better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes purely speculation, because most people can still function if they're just sick.
