You guys all do realize that Boston sucks at home right?

Not even close to a .500 win percent.

They're far better on the road. If anything them being at home is good for us. Not to mention the Senators have beaten Boston twice this year while Boston has only beaten them once.

Bottom Line, we need to beat Philly AND Boston to make it. We have them back to back, Boston has carolina then a day off, then us. Boston will most likely beat Carolina. Philly has Pitt for their game in hand, hopefully they whoop the flyers and leave us tied for the game wednesday. Either way, if Boston beats Carolina and we lose to philly, it will be WAY too hairy! We NEED to go into the Boston game up by 3 if possible. That would take them losing to the Canes, and us beating Philly though...if they beat Carolina, we lose to Philly then they beat us? Over...

Best case scenario, we are up 3 by thursday and we beat them.

If Philly loses to Pitt, and we beat philly that'll help in the WC race, they also have a date with Pit...

ARGH! It's too hairy for me now!

it is, both Philly and Isles have 5 games remaining and are above us in the standings, so it all comes down to staying above Boston in our division. we need at least 4/6 points to control our destiny.

The rangers are the final game of the season, and they might be resting key players, as they won't probably have much to play for by then. So that might be an easy win. As long as we beat Boston and win one more game, which I know is a lot, we are guaranteed to get in. I hope they win out, but we don't have too. Plus Boston hasn't exactly been world beaters lately either. They are 3-7-0 in their last 10, and that includes a flukey win over ST Louis.

We win the Boston game in ROW and either one of the games against the Flyers or Rangers and we finish third in the division to play Tampa or Florida, no matter what the Bruins do in their other two games.

The next two are going to be hard fought games because we're all in a race for the last couple spots, and although the Rangers won't be playing for their playoff lives, they may need that game to decide home ice advantage over the Pens, or possibly even to hold on to that third spot over the Islanders or Flyers. Even if their position in the standings is locked, I bet they would love to be the team to end the Wings streak...

It's not going to be easy, but very doable. I still think we'll get in..

Lets not count out the chance of jumping ahead of the Isles either. They are only 2 points ahead, sure with 2 games in hand, but those games are TPA and WAS. TPA will bring its A game trying to get 1st in Atlantic, WAS, while, already clinched the PT, still ice a formidable team, especially with Ovie wanting the goal score title. The Isles could very well still only be two points ahead of us come Wed.

I like that our destiny is in or hands and the two teams were trying to catch we face. It's a huge plus and will really show our stones and set us up for the playoffs. The other nice thing is if we beat Philly we will easily own Row and they have to pass us not tie us.

It's going to be an awesome finish and let's hope guys like goose and Tatar step up for a couple games because getting in, in the Atlantic division could be a lot easier ride then last year....

Florida (little playoff experience)

Tampa (no stamkos)

Boston/Detroit (bubble teams)

Isles/Flyers (bubble teams where one is playing great but for a while now and a couple loses in row could slam the breaks on them and the other is tanking)

Side note: Boston has a lot easier schedule besides us, and Philly has a tough schedule. Philly could easily lose there next game and then were tied

Yep was just about to say that. You can disregard those stats. Boston should be a clear favorite to make the playoffs. All games at home. No back-to-back.

Including against Detroit on its second of a back to back and having played the Phillies the night before starting at 8 pm. Very bad scheduling where Boston played 10 b to b and Detroit it's 16 b to b not well balanced!!!

Do you also like the fact that for Boston and Phiily, destiny is in their hands as well?

So for all three teams, that cliche is true ... just sayin.

don't look now, but add another team to our chances of passing up....The Rangers are only 4 points ahead of us, on a 2 game losing streak and are only playing .500 the last 10. They currently sit 4 points ahead of us, could possibly be a do or die for them when we play them the last day of our season...

I think our chances to make the playoffs are pretty good (unless we s*** the bed all 3 games) considering we could pass Philly (they still have another game against Pit) if we beat them Wed...we could pass any of Philly, Rags, Isles, Bruins...also an outside chance we could catch Tampa, they are also 4 points ahead of us.

What a mess, yet the competition is going to be fierce this last week of play...lets hope The Wings all show up!

The game against Boston is our biggest one. Its very intereresting because you couldn't ask for 3 better teams to play at the end of the season. All 3 teams are within reach of us in the playoffs and its sort of like a mini playoff. I love it

Well we didn't make the most of the easy teams that were on our schedule recently, so now we're going to have to beat the good teams to get into the post season. Boston and NYR on the road, Philly at home, its not going to be easy to say the least. Meanwhile, Boston has all three games left at home and its CAR, OTT and DET. As long as we win, we'll stay ahead, but right now I feel like we're down 3-1 in a playoff series. We can't have anymore mishaps. We can't afford to have anymore games with the effort that got us shutout by Toronto or blowout by Pittsburgh.

I don't see this team winning in Boston, in a game of this caliber, on a back-to-back when facing Philadelphia at home the day before. I love me some Z, D and D-boss but that simply ain't happening.

We don't need to win out. We need to beat Boston and one of Philadelphia or New York to guarantee third in the division. Of course there are many ways this could play out but that is our best case scenario...

Yeah everybody seems to be having a hard time with the math. And Boston has been way worse than us in the last month. Couple of weeks ago we were talking about how we had to keep pace with Philly and that was the only chance we had. You could look at it as Boston is due for a resurgence, but I don't thinks so. We've had horrible puck luck all month, I chose to have faith we will show up, like we did the last three years it was this tight.

Detroit Red Wings Playoff Chances

Did not play, playoff odds up 11.6 to 60.4%

91 points 40 28-11

+12% based on Philly and Boston losing last night.
The critical game of the remaining three is obviously the proverbial "four point game" against Boston.
The second season may very well hinge on it.
