Wooo, great win! That ending had my heart racing, especially the last few seconds. Overall good performance except for the first half of the 3rd where they fell asleep back there.

I also had a good laugh at the NHL website:

After the Flyers lost in shootout.

After the Wings won in regulation.

I'm used to seeing them go with a cheesy pun or something for these post-game headlines, but something about the way they worded this one makes it makes it sound like it has some kind of passive aggressive tone to it. Maybe it's just me. :P

My guess is we will not have Smith for the next 2

I would be pretty upset if he got suspended at all. Smith stood straight up, no thrusting motion at all and their was no injury. They start suspending guys for that then players will have to steer clear of everyone skating with their head down

I Judy saw it from a different angle, it did look like he got shoulder in chest and head contact was minimal

2 of those goals weren't his fault and he more than made up for it. He kept us in the 1st otherwise we would have been in a whole early. He also made some big saves to keep us ahead 4 to 3. He was clutch when he had to be. Remember another goalie like that? Osgooddddd

Wouldn't have had to make any clutch saves if he didn't let in the weak goals to begin with.

Just calling it like it is. Mraz did well in second half of third but he should not have let in the weak goals. He's got to get back in his mojo from January if we want to get past round 1 (assuming we get in).

Thank the lord our offense is finally clicking and scoring a ton of goals. Imagine if our offense was still struggling.

He's got to bring his A game for Crosby and the Penguins. I want January Mrazek in net on Saturday.

Mannn. That was horrible play after being up 4-0. Errorson and Mrazek combined on a bad first goal. Green just stands there and let's the Habs player who I forget grab the rebound instead of clearing it on the second goal, and the third Kronwall screens Mrazek and the puck goes in off his skate. The defence needs to smarten the hell up fast. It never should have gotten close to what the final score was, especially against a depleted Habs team with Ben Scrivens in goal. Errorson at the very least needs to sit a few games. He's painful to watch.

Just my take on the game....Kronwall and Ericsson are the two worst d-men on the team. Period. They single-handedly almost gave that game away last night...and most nights. Nyquist needs to sit, he is no longer any sort of threat...except to melting the ice with his suckiness. Geez, remember when we had a team full of GOOD Swedes? Now we have one that's on his last leg and still carrying the team. If we could rid ourselves of the three mentioned above, we'd be a better team by subtraction.

BTW - Anyone else having issues logging in on an android device? I can no longer log in on my phone or tablet, I get some wierd long error message....

Could it be the coaching staff that has caused what appears to be a significant decline in some of the guys playing ability?

I certainly have no answer, but it does appear Babs has earned that contract with the Leafs.

I just don't know why Blash doesn't switch things up. He pissed me off last night when he should've called a TO after the 2nd goal. He did the same thing in TPA. After they went back up by 3, he should've called the TO. Also, last night, after NOT calming the players down after the 2nd goal, he challenged the 3rd goal when it was obvious that Kronwall was the one that bumped Petr. The guys in the booth should've have seen that and not wasted a TO.

Speaking of which, I'd like to see that rule thrown out. You can have as many challenges as you want, but if you're wrong, you get a delay of game penalty. Much like the old goalie stick challenge.

Blash needs to juggle lines when it is going bad. I still cannot stand the fact that AA is on the 4th line. AA - Dats - Mantha would be the best line on the team.

Blash has switched the lines up all the time this year. How people forget it was just last week he switched them up midgame against FLA and it resulted in a comeback win. Last night his combos got them a 4-0 lead. Why panic? Let your players play through it. Throughout the season he has been criticized on this board for not changing things up enough and then changing things up to much that players cant get good cohesion. You cant have both.

If by earn you mean be the worst team in the league then yes I guess so. Babs will never see the end of that contract. He will be fired come year 4 and it will take more than t hat for the Leafs to be respectable.

The time it took for them to challenge the goal was a timeout for the team. It just had the extra benefit of maybe, possibly getting them to reverse a goal. I agree with you that I would have taken a TO after the second goal, but if he was doing it after the third goal you may as well do it by using your challenge. Same effect for your guys as far as giving them a break, but you get an outside shot at having the goal disallowed entirely.

4th line ha been one of our best lines and they get quite a bit of ice time for a fourth line... I think Glendening has been a beast down this stretch, Helm too. Some guys have found that extra gear while Nyquist and some are saving their worst hockey for now

Blashill does switch things up. Last night he stapled AA, Mantha and Tatar to the bench in the third. Makes sense if you don't think they can be trusted to protect a lead. I'm not sure I agree with that judgment -- haven't seen enough of AA and AM in lead-protection situations to know if they are up to it -- but he's certainly not the first coach to decide he's putting it on his vets to close out a game.

Ok so we're tied with Philly. I bet you right now that Detroit better do something because I bet Philly wants it more than we do.

Its not down to Philly and Detroit. Philly is playing some of the best hockey in the league right now and will get in. The spot will be either Detroit, Boston, or the Islanders. Better to watch those teams results than Philly.
