AA's scoring pace would put him at about 18 goals over 82 games, which is great for a rookie, and have him around 3rd/4th on the team.

My cousin, a Canucks fan, keeps asking me, "How do you guys keep finding these players in the 3rd and 4th rounds?" :)

And when you consider his TOI, that's insane. He's going to take a big step forward next year IMO.

If the Wings make it, some people should maybe just maybe also thank the great goaltending of a guy named Jimmy Howard. Probably his best game all season he played like an absolute brick. Going to be tired as heck today but it was well worth it, because it was a win-win either miss and a 1 % chance for Matthews or win and have the final showdown on Saturday so yeah.

That may have been the best game I have ever seen Jimmy play, he absolutely came through in the clutch.

Just finished watching the game and overall what an awesome display by the boys. Eventhough Philly was crashing the net JImmy was solid with a shutout and assisting Q-beard, AA with a shorty, Glenny and his great hussle. I wish Goose had score. I didn't know he was the Wings top scorer in the last couple of seasons.

Really hyped for next game v Boston. We can do this guys.

Tense, intense, scruffy hockey game.

Simmonds looking to cut Larkin's head off a couple of times but Abdelkader always there to give him a lovetap.

Why isn't Richards getting more credits for tonights game though. He created the first two goals using his veteran play with some dirty elements mixed in. Very subtle and ingenious.

So what does it take fo the Wings to lock up a playoff spot? I'm lazy and I don't feel like lookin it up. Anyone? Bueller? Edit-nm Xym's post explained it.

1/Win in Boston, doesn´t matter if Reg/OT or shootout. B91(or92)-D95 and it´s over.

If not then in case of (assuming 2pts row for Bruins against Sens):

2/Detroit L - we need to ROW in NYR (95/95, but better ROW for Wings, as we´re 2 row-s ahead of them right now)

3/Detroit LOT - (B93/D94) we need to ROW in NYR (Bruins would equalize ROW with Sens, which is hell of a tie-break for us)

4/Detroit L in shootout - we need ONE POINT from NYR. Bos won´t get row from this match and 2pts with Sens will equalize points, but keep them one row behind.

5/ All other potential options, but low percentage chance - Bruins will loose to Sens, Flyers will burn in their last few games (even equalizing our 93 points won´t help them with worst row) and of course - we will smack Bolts(which itself means we will get three points somehow what will get us in in all scenarios).

Hope that´s correct.

So subtle he created the second goal without even being on the ice. Ingenious. :ninja:

That's Ingenious isn't it? Meant the first goal and it came out both. He did play well though and deserved a short rant.

This wasn't just a big win, this was a MUST win. Howard decided to be Mrazek of last year, take over late in the season and pull out some clutch fkn wins.

I hate sayin it, but right now, all I care about is a Silver Anniversary. One more game is all we need for that and I can chill out, that is unless we start looking like a contender and then the playoffs are a big Fkn deal.

Glenny, Abby, and Helm woulda made the grind line guys proud tonight. I'm sure Drapes was smiling up in the press box.

I don't know why they can't play like that most of the season. Helm used to play like that all the time and it helped us win a lot.

Nothing but positives from last nights game... I must admit I feel a little more confident going into the post-season, knowing we can step up our game when the time comes.

-Defensive Zone exits were fantastic.

-Defensive Zone coverages were so much better, but still not quite where we need to be.

-PP looks much more dangerous than it has all season.

-Forecheck was fantastic, lead to the Helm GWG.

-Quincey was our best Defenceman last night.

-Howard stole the show... Looks like he won't be all that hard to trade in the offseason if we still believe in Mrazek.

-Happy for Blashill to win a game like this. He was spot on with matchups and did a great job on Giroux and Voracek.
