Simply for the reason he did things I didn't get immediately, waiting for replays to understand what he just did. Amazing, amazing player, unique style and generational talent. DRW Dominance 255 Report post Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the $7.5 million cap hit next season. that's detroit's problem for saying they won't trade it. and if they don't they are officially the stupidest organization of all time. as for Pav though. 2nd favourite player of all time, next to Yzerman. i'm still surprised that he is actually done after this year. i thought we'd get at least another year, probably 2. but after reading the Albom article, i can fully understand why he is done. gonna miss watching that guy, this team is gonna have a giant gaping hole. Outside the big ones, here are a few of my favorite memories. First year, he made a deke where he "passed the puck to himself" off the back of the net then made a ridiculous move and pass to Dandy to score. The breakaway he made in the famous triple overtime SCP game with Carolina and deked the daylights out of three or so players (so close to ending that game). SCP with the Penns where he faked a pass back to Kronval, but then used his dragging foot to kick it back up to himself was off the charts creativity, skill, confidence and daring INSANITY! The time he was being asked about his on ice vision and how many people he sees and his response of something like, "I see about twenty thousand people." Datsyuk has far exceeded our pleasure for what his cap hit might count for next year. frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) All I can say is there aren't enough words, pictures or videos to sum up how much joy I've been having watching this guy make other NHLers look like beer league players for over a decade now. Also loved the way he conducted himself, Pasha could make you look stupid and flatout amateuerish but he never ever did some over the top celebrations, sometimes it looked like he would just prefer to go back to the center ice win his faceoff and do it again without making a big deal about it. Pasha you will be missed, all the best in Russia and hopefully you'll bei n the HHOF one day god knows you deserve it.
