Serious question : Did we ever score on one of those empty or near empty nets this season ?

Edit : Otherwise an even better period. Tampa as no right to be tied in this game.

I was just thinking about that, I don't think so.

I can't remember the last time we had an easy wide open net goal, nothing came easy this year.

I haven't been able to watch cbc hockey unmuted in probably 4 or 5 years.

And I watch hockey night in canada every Saturday the wings aren't playing, it's brutal.

It still annoys me way less than NBC's douchecrew. Minus Doc, of course.

Rags giving this one up. Horrible.

Yeah, but nbcs crew is at least humorous to watch, if only for the fact that they all hate the wings and when we succeed they're clearly upset. Which makes it fun for me, but watching cbc (or Rogers) just feels sad, like watching punch drunk retired boxers trying to eat soup while theIr children sit next to them boasting about things they don't understand. wow, Lundqvist got hit on the mask, apparently by Staal's stick and is down.

Which, of course, means Pittsburgh fans are booing him. He tried to stay in and Pittsburgh scored.

the man knows how to play playoff hockey

I've been saying all season long that Richards could be our best player come playoff time. He knows how to step up his game when it counts.

I always liked Ray Ferraro... He really understand all the little nuances in the game

Also Mike Johnson I think his name is? Young guy. Really gets today's game

The rest are awful I used to love listening to Bob Cole come playoff time but he's definitely lost it

In Russia, everything is many years behind. I would know.

And prolly still playing with coloring books.

OH I wasn't saying he wasn't still playing with coloring books, I was piggybacking on his comment, the age difference is pretty damn crazy, ha.

I worded that wrong, it came off as speaking in a "as a matter of fact" tone when I was just in awe of the generation gap.

Yeah, Richards looks really good. And Green's been really good at distributing the puck.

He's done that pretty much all year, he gets caught sometimes but hes been nowhere near as bad defensively as some people claim hes been.

And if Richards hadn't lost a step speedwise, or even was as fast as Andersson is, he'd probably still be putting up 50-60 points. He's a damn smart player, and always plays well in the playoffs.

Both great points. But I would argue Andersson is slower than Richards

Haha, it's all good! Just had to make sure. In any case, that is actually pretty nuts now that I think about it. Early/mid-2000s still doesn't feel so long ago to me.
