ECQF Game 3 Post-GDT: at Red Wings 2, Tampa Bay 0

I'd really like to share your optimism, but Blashill isn't inspiring confidence in me and this goes back before the playoffs. I don't see any signs of strategy or adaptability and we have boatloads of promising offensive players under performing while hungry young guys sit. And our D? Enough said. Buck has to stop somewhere, but maybe Holland is calling the shots on who plays. If true, then both are failing to do their jobs.

Fair enough.

All I'm saying is that we could so easily be up 2-1. If thats the case, who could really complain about usage or strategy? The most dominate game (from either team) so far this series came when he got his matchups.

So I missed it what did Blashill say about AA?

I think they were referring to his post gsme comments... Generally said that some players have the ability to make an impact with very little ice time, and that AA was one of them.

Basically there won't be an increase in his minutes.

I am going to look at it from Blash's point of view. He is praising AA without putting undo pressure on him vs saying "I am going to double down his minutes and that way we can see more from him" Do I think AA deserves more minutes yes do I think it will gradually rise yes I do but I am probably in the minority.

Dumping beer on a player is classless. I don't care who it is. A couple years ago many here at LGW went on and on when Chicago fans did the same, bemoaning how disrespectful it is. Looks like at least one of the Red Wings faithful is no better.

Yeah, but I don't see anyone on here applauding it. There's the difference.

I thought it was funny

Boyle is such a meat...If your going after Abdelkader for what he did at the end of Game 2 - you have 60 minutes of play to get your revenge, there's no point if the game is over and you don't do it if you know Abby's hands are taped (which could lead to a suspension because it was after the game).

He also has about 6 inches and 40 LBS on the guy...

I thought it was hilarious and entertaining. Got a good laugh out of it.

Apparently beating people bloody on ice (see game 2) isn't classless but throwing beer is. Yawn. Double standards of hockey.

Of course there's a point in waiting, you don't hurt your team while the game is still winnable. Especially if you're down two goals and trying to come back.

It's easy to act tough when you know the guy isn't going to fight back.

They just won the game, there was absolutely 0 chance Abdelkader entertains a fight with that caveman (who is much bigger) after the clock runs out. Would have been incredibly stupid (and against every coaches orders) for Abby to risk injury in that situation - and a guy like Boyle knows that.

Where was he when the game was 0-0 and Abdelkader would have (more likely) dropped the gloves?

By your own admission Abby was under coaches orders not to drop the gloves at all. So I don't see what difference the timing makes. But I'm not trying to talk you into anything, so have your kicks.

Kickazz, no double standard at all. My disdain for fighting in hockey is so well documented I didn't think it needed repeating. I disapprove of both fighting AND fans acting like idiots.

That's fine and you have the right to your opinion as others like myself that LOVE fighting and don't think it's a big deal about the beer. And I didn't think it had to be repeated by me because it's also well documented. :)

No no, I know you're not a fan of fighting. The point you presented has actually been going around on the free press, and social media all day.

I think it's completely out of line to dump/throw beer on a player that is on the ice, no matter who it is.

Now, if you want to dump beer on Boyle while he's walking to the locker room, fine...but on the ice? During the game? This is the pros, not some bush league.
