Yes and he had heart and leadership. I simply group all if ours together by using the term The Swedes, meaning the Swedes on our team. But from now on, I guess I'll list them individually.

Sooo many Swedes on the team past and present. Sucks they didn't snag that Lundqvist guy though.

Don't worry about it for some everything that doesn't fit the pc bulls*** must be racist...

There's a difference between pc and singling out a group while pushing a false narrative. Take some notes.

Not sure why you'd wanna go down that route, it's not like the canadians, americans, slovaks or czechs of the team are playing one bit better right now.

Oh I hear you. You guys know my disdain for Howard and Helm and KFQ. I call out bad players, not because of where they're from. Like I said, from now on I will list them individually instead of just saying The Swedes. I apologized already.

It's just stinks that 4 of our worst players are all from the same country. Sorry again, I'll just say the names from now on.

No worries.

I thought that Mrazek let in some softies. And to be honest, Datsyuk was really really off today.

Wonder if he's injured or just looking forward to going back to Russia. The team hasn't given him a reason to stay this year..

Could be both combined with the fact that the Red Wings are still relying on a 38-year-old to drive the offense.

I agree. If I was Pav, I'd ask to leave now. He is just as broken as Z, but you'd think the would rally and show more umph for what could possibly have been his last game at the Joe.

Outside of the Glenny line (which I like) and AA along with Larkin, it was a pretty lackluster showing from the rest of the team considering that fact.

I wish we had some D that could get the puck to the net. Maybe try Smith on the PP next game? Not sure if he played there tonight.

Tough loss. Refs didn't have us like last game and we got sloppy on the pk a couple times. Our fwds didn't play well positionally on the pk and it burned us. We played very well in the second half of the game and were unlucky to not have taken the lead.

ONE thing is for certain - if you move Bishop side to side (like Tampa did to us actually) he is very beatable. We need to do more of this next game.

I'm very disappointed the way things have turned out with Blashill this year. Maybe that's somewhat on me, but man... It seems like they built him up to be something potentially even better than Babcock. Current disappointment aside, maybe the real test for his abilities is in the next year or two. Cooler heads would likely argue that...

In the meantime, as much as I would love to see the Wings win the cup every year, realistically, this is/was not likely going to be their year anyway... Not with the team we have.

I said the same thing in the GDT but Mrazek is the golden boy of the board right now. First was real bad. 2nd he overplayed. Third he was out to far on what he thought was gonna be a shot and had to go to far to try and cover it leaving no chance to get to the deflection. If Howard was in net and made the same saves and allowed the same goals all this thread would be full of is how Howard cant make the big save and is poor going side to side.

I don't think Howard would have made THAT mistake, of shifting waaaay too far over. That was something that seemed like a 2nd year player mistake, someone who isn't seasoned. I'm not giving Mrazek a pass, as that was a really dumb play, but he was nowhere near the worst player tonight. Not even in the Bottom 5.

Holy crap man. Of course Z, Kronwall have aged pretty badly and Ericsson makes a lot of errors but what the heck kind of post is this.. How are you still allowed to post here with your racist comments? Singling out a group and pushing a made up false narrative??

Mods?

I have never really had a problem with you man but what the f*** you talking about lol. I'm no mod but I see nothing wrong with what he said.

Anyways I'll probably be watching game 5 for #13 only.

Also, Wings Twitter saying they'll win in 7 now. Like please god no. Don't put that out there..

Just did a comparison with Errorson stats and the top dmen in the league and their contracts. Ericsson was +2 on the season with a goalie that was 13 in the league in GAA (Mrazek). Dekeyser was also +2, he makes almost 2 mil less a year. In comparison Hedman makes the same amount as E. He was 7th in the league in +/- (+21). Carlson makes a shade less this year and the same the next few years, was 13th at +16. E averaged 18:30 toi. 133 other defenseman averaged more. Tied for 25th in the league with 56 penalty minutes out of all Dmen. This is the guy we pay 4 mil a year to, to play defense. Just think of all the other dmen we could have over him that would be better. This was Hollands answer to lidstrom retiring. Since Suter and or Parise didn't work out, he just threw money, long term, to Jonathan freaking Ericsson. I'm sure the same scenario could be compared for abdelkader. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he's not an elite player. He missed that wide open chance at the end to tie it because the guy has no hands, but he's on the ice in those situations. Holland needs to learn to evaluate players and their worth a whole lot better. And if you want to argue and say he could have gotten the same elsewhere, that's probably true, and they would get the same return on their investment.

What's ironic is a few posts later a mod commented on the same thing (a bit less dramatically though). See below.

And seriously, bashing Swedes in general? Hockey fans can be some of the most delusional xenophobes out there.

Mrazek is better...he had many good saves tonight. All those power play goals in my mind are on the penalty killing which was very weak tonight. Mrazek made some key stops throughout this game that kept us in the game. Jimmy would have given up 3 goals in the first period and then have to be pulled. Remember Jimmy is coming off of a 4 game losing streak. Games we absolutely had to have and he could not get it done.

Mrazek's one problem is he plays too far out of the crease at times. But so does Jimmy. Maybe they are coached that way. They need to watch video of Carey Price and Lundquist. Those goalies are very efficient...not spastically out of control.

The thing is, he didn't play like that before. So yeah it could be coaching.

It's no different then almost everyone saying Russians don't play D (although it's gotten better). I guess I don't see anything wrong with it.

Anyways I'm mad but not as mad as couple of the regular season losses weird enough. I was hoping for a win obviously but figures they'd let us down somehow. Oh how much the game would've been different had Larkin not hit the pipe and scored.

If only Larkin didn't hit the crossbar..............we'd lose in 7 instead of 5.

if only... but seriously what's up with scoring on Bishop? guy's relentless with that stick and super agressive on the puck, It should be allowed to check him.
