The deal was a front loaded 4 year contract. That's all anyone knows. You can ***** that he doesn't want to sign here all you want. But obviously Ken tried to get him and missed. But you're acting like he never even tried. A lot of people today acting like children throwing temper tantrums because they didn't get their way. Guess what a lot of players passed on a lot of teams today. We weren't the only ones to get passed up on.

What was KH plan going into offseason:

1. Top six forward with size

2. Top 4 defensemen

3. Add size and grit

4. Top size center (Dats)

He said that the changes are needed and that he will work on it...

He traded Chych to get rid of Dats contract so he can offer extension to Helm?

What was done in order to address everything that HE identified as a issues???

Tough to be optimistic when it almost seemed like it was the go to response after a loss the last few seasons when they were down 1 or 2 nothing in the first 10 mins

The amount of LH shots on this team right now is amazing. How in the world are they going to play with any team speed when they have to take a pass on their back hand. The idiocy is phenomenal

Kenny, tell me how re-signing Helm and Miller changes this teams chances at winning to Cup? We basically traded Chychrun and Datsyuk for Nielsen and Cholowski.

If nothing else changes, he needs to be fired. Until then I will no longer be a fan.

At the time, they, and the rest of the hockey world, thought Stamkos was going to be available, which they clearly stated multiple times that they would make a hard push to sign him.

It didn't work out that way, the cap was still dumped and we were able to sign one of the top available Centers because of it. You can't expect them to predict the future and know that Stamkos would re-sign with Tampa. Regardless, dumping Datsyuk's cap wasn't a bad move with or without Stamkos.

The only way we were gonna improve this team was through trade ... These 3 signings just basically mean jurco pulkkinen are on the outs (probably waivers since we never get anything for our guys)

Mantha will probably start in Grand Rapids cause it's the wings way ... He'll use the "overripe" bulls*** excuse

Unless holland moves a nyquist say to get some defense, it's clear holland had to move out some pieces and some garbage we have (swear if he resigns Quincey)

I believe we are an unwanted destination. Most of the big names weren't considering Detroit, success is cyclical in sports, it's designed to be so.
