I wouldn't want to give up what it will take to get him.

Unless we have a backup plan, I guess if they'd take Mantha, Nyquist, Smith, Pulkkinen and our 1st.

I'd be ok with that as long as we could acquire a youngster to replace Mantha, like maybe Rychel.

I'd hate to lose Mantha, but he'd love to go there, the fans and media would love him there and Subban would help tremendously here.

I think it would be more expensive than that though.

Ok...

So what is it with Subban?

Is it that he's charismatic, or maybe just a bit outlandish?

I recall hearing that he might be a 'problem' in the locker room, but hell - I'd take that problem child any day on the Wings.

We all know you're being funny...

Now I do not know if you're being funny :g:

Damn that wing at the childrens hospital named after him for the exceptional donation he made...Damn PK Subban!

It's seems like these days everyone but Radulov is piece of s*** on this board

I'd love to have Subban on this team, unfortunately he would cost WAY too much...

Bob McKenzie - "MIN is fielding offers on some of its good young D. A trade of a D for a good young forward is possible but not necessarily assured."

Matt Dumba?

Pierre LeBrun - "Cam Fowler trade talks heating up to the point where he could be moved before Friday night's draft. Stay tuned."

Bob McKenzie - "DET in no hurry to dump Datsyuk cap hit. Wings know asset cost but don't want to pay the price until they're certain they need the cap room."

Just what I was thinking. Throw the bank at whomever you are going after on July 1, then make the Pav deal when you know which asset you're comfortable letting go.

I still say we should pursue Fowler. Basically a hometown kid. Not sure the cost though. They probably don't need Pav's cap nor Howard.

Id go after Jonas brodin , still 22 and 5 yrs on his deal with a reasonable 4 mill cap hit which I think will be a real bargain in 2-3 yrs

He had an off season but he can play 20+ minutes a night and will only get better ... Now if there was a way to add trouba and Brodin we'd be really talking

Dekeyer trouba

Brodin kronwall

Pair kronwall with the fellow Swede ... Pretty solid top 4

I was also checking teams rosters to see what Vegas will look like (pretty dam bad , so much for bettmans plan ) and I noticed Ryan Ellis as being the 4th dman for the Preds and will likely get dealt , I don't know if that would interest anyone ... Don't think he's great enough to chase

Saw it on twitter somewhere that there are a lot of teams talking to Detroit about Datsyuk contract. There is a possibility where we retain salary while holding on to our top prospects. Please let that be true, if it has to be that way.

Also, wonder if Holland is thinking that he'll expose Howard to Vegas next off-season, but there is no guarantee they'll take him anyway. Holland needs to be selling the poo out of Howard to Calgary. Please let Bishop and Fleury fall through, so they have no choice but to make the trade with us!

Several teams have been in contact with Detroit on Pavel Datsyuk's contract. Red Wings can expand the field if they take money back.

Not sure Detroit has a lot of appetite to take salary back. My sense is they're most interested in moving Datsyuk if going big in UFA.

DET in no hurry to dump Datsyuk cap hit. Wings know asset cost but don't want to pay the price until they're certain they need the cap room.

Well that's where we stand, as far as the "insiders" are aware.

I find it funny how every year people are falling for the same media games. What is MB supposed to say other than he isn't shopping Subban but he would be dumb not to listen at offers if Edmonton offers Hall, Nurse and their 4 pick you gotta listen.

The only real story line is where does stammer sign other than that ..Even the top 3 in the draft are set.

I have a feeling Detroit will have a deal in place for Datsyuk's contract with a team dependent on getting a big fish free agent to sign with Detroit. So I don't see it being traded till July 1st or after. Holland knows if he trades away good pieces and then strikes out in free agency he will be looking for another job.

That tweet from Craig Custance makes no sense. There is no salary attached to Datsyuk's contract so that's obviously not the issue with negotiations...

Regarding Howard, if he isn't moved before the expansion draft (I hope he will be) he absolutely will be made available. No chance Mrazek is exposed...
