Martin is a bottom 6 guy. We have more than enough depth guys. Just another reason the Miller signing was unnecessary... I would have taken Martin over Miller, but with Miller already signed, no thanks...

Line combinations are subject to change, obviously. Like you said, even getting 2/3 would be an upgrade. I'm sure people would take issue with guys like Mantha, Jurco and Pulkkinen on the outside looking in, but that's a solid-looking group of forwards.

Martin is a hard hitting and a hard worker 4th liner who is very effective while playing on the 4th line. We don't have these type of player as we are playing skilled (Pulks/Jurco) which are not able to contribute as 4th liners.

I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed Wings fans here on Friday. And if / when Holland strikes out on some of the bigger names and over pays for one of the second tier guys, people are going to go nuts...

Exactly my point Dom. A week ago, I would have welcomed a Martin type player, but after the Miller signing, to go along with our already over crowded bottom 6, there's really no place for a player like Martin...

Sure is, but to me, it's doable. I believe that because, once you have those three one of Nyquist/Tatar can be traded for defence help, and bingo Mantha on the 3rd line. And while people don't love it, Jurco being in the lineup is better than him being out and Martin-Glendening-Jurco could actually establish a cycle, chip in and play physical. I sure won't get my hopes up, but man, what a dream scenario.

Man I would hate to trade tatar...I really like his play and enthusiasm but if we land stamkos and another good foward I would be ok I guess to trade both for some d help. but man I would be a bit sad to see them go.

After the disaster down the stretch this season, I'm open to absolutely anything... well except for trading Larkin, AA, or Mantha

I also think we get 2, with one of them being Stamkos OR Lucic. If we do get Stamkos and an offer for Looch is on the table, I do think Detroit becomes a much more attractive option for him.

But yes, 4 or 5 new names is a pipe dream.
