Obviously, he's not always right, but where I'll read about a trade or signing on his site way before it happens. Maybe he's just getting lucky, but either way its an enjoyable site to read.

Yzerman has a Stamkos and Hedman to take care of because the Lightning were in a position to draft those players.

The Lightning were in a position to draft those players because they sucked hard for several years.

Worst/Best-case scenario for us, realistically: we suck hard for the next several years and get a Hedman and a Stamkos.

Three other posters said the same thing I did. It's pretty obvious your post was not very well thought out. Stamkos and Hedman were already in TB when Yzerman got there.

Well is it better to suck 2-3 seasons and re-tool or to be playoff average contender team. KH goal is to make playoffs and not to win SC. With stupid trades and FA signings or re-signings of our own players I don't see us getting any better. Edited July 1, 2016 by Dominator2005

I don't think Yzerman would have been savior either. This team has been declining for 6 years and we need to stop duct taping this team together for the sake of a meaningless streak. The problem is Ilitch wants a competitive team when the pizzarena opens up so I don't see us blowing things up for another couple of years.
