^ You can definitely put Sheahan on the 4th line. $2 million dollar 4th liner is not that expensive with the upcoming cap raise.

Don't split up Z and Larkin imo.

Tatar - Neilsen - Vanek

Zetterberg - Larkin - Abdelkader

AA - Helm - Nyquist

Sheahan - Glendogmillionaire - Miller/Ott

Each line would have a defensively responsible player, a scorer and a "powerforward"

The third line would be one of the fastest in the NHL. Tatar likes to shoot and Vanek is the type of player that scores on rebounds. Larkin and Zetterberg have good chemistry. Helm is defensively responsible to make up for AA and Nyquist is the primary scorer on the line. 4th line would easily be better because of Sheahan's decent scoring ability, something Glendog and Miller lack.

I really like the look of these lines with the pieces that they have. I agree you have to put Zetterberg on Larkins wing incase he needs to help out with faceoffs. Also if there is a trade in the works involving Nyquist you can slot Mantha in on that 3rd line.

Way to early to begin line juggling given that there is probably a trade in making.

That said I like the look of those lines. Our first line is probably the worst of the whole league, but second and third look great. We don't have the superstar player anymore, but we have at least depth going for us. Not the worst.

How many years now have we been saying that for? And how far has it got us?

Seriously this team needs a trade of a core player to light a fire under everyone else's asses to show them they're accountable, and to give AA and Mantha a spot to let them know their jobs are on the line if they don't produce

if holland makes no trades for dmen i hope russo makes the team. guy put up impressive number in his first season in the ahl. i heard some people talking about him but i didnt realize he led the defense in every aspect.

Or fans who don't understand that the team will do whatever it can to keep the Streak going need to adjust their expectations.

But by all means, continue to bang your head against a wall.

.

The streak is meaningless unless it's accompanied by a legitimate chance at wining the cup.

Defense, Kronwall, Green, Smith, Ericsson, Marchenko, Ouellet, Sproul. As it is one player will need to be waived, they won't waive two.

The blue Claus is right. Trade is happening. Training camp will happen.

Relax, enjoy your summer, drink beverages and await preliminary formations, which in part depends on offensive and defensive schemes anyhow. Remember, we have new people dictating those together with our sophomore head coach.

I think a trade will happen after the season has started and they have an idea of what the team looks like. Hopefully a playoff team will find themselves without a goalie around the trade deadline and Howard can be traded, that's the only scenario where I can see some value coming back.

Yea as much as I want to see a trade now, I don't see anything imminent. Teams don't need to make a trade right now that the draft and the hustle and bustle of free agency is over. They might as well wait till training camp and see who is making the team and who isn't and then trade. I'm preparing for the current team to go into training camp.

If we dont make a trade now for a dman here is what id like to see

Smith-green: our best pair last year, can move the puck well. I think smith is way better than he gets credit for and definitely better than danny dekeyser

Kronwall-oulette:i think kronner will be healthier and be much better than people think and pairing him with a young guy like oulette would be great for both

Dekesyer-marchenko/sproul : i think dekeyser has regressed a lot and i think he is best served on our 3rd pairing. It would make a pretty good 3rd pairing.
