Anyone see this? Looks like someone is not thick skinned enough to play in New York. I guess when you play in Florida and San Jose your entire career, you're not used to attention and criticism.

Curses out reporters? Tirade? I think that's over exaggerating things. He's pissed and is showing some emotion, it'd be nice if someone on the Wings showed some emotion over their losses sometime and maybe there wouldn't be so many of them.

I agree. I couldn't care less about how he talks to a reporter, but he's got a spine and he's not afraid to say what he's thinking. Detroit's locker room could use some strut like that.

Wow! He may be completely right, and the reporter may be a complete jerk, but when you are a professional you can't speak to the media that way. Just makes you come off as immature and ridicoulas.

Pretty much. I've lived in towns before where reporters never asked tough questions of their coaches. As a fan, I hated that.

Boyle is an athlete and getting criticized for bad play is not out of line. I haven't read all the reporter wrote about him, but as long as there were no personal attacks on Boyle or his family, he's fair game.

To be honest I wonder if the media is controlled in Detroit where they really can't ask those tough questions. They are warned ahead of time.

Where did he lash out? Probably his last day in an NHL locker room, he is part of the Rangers that moron Brooks isn't so Boyle has every right to tell them to get the f..out.

Too bad he didn't test how long Brooks would have stayed if Boyle meant business.

When he told him to get the F out.

I wouldn't mind an little more emotion from the Wings. Dan Cleary was the last guy in the room who would stare down a question and deal with it. Shanny before him. Soft questions from reporters make for boring, mumbling, cookie-cutter interviews - the hallmark of an NHL post-game locker room media scrum.

I don't actually blame Boyle for getting irritated, in this case.

Boyle was a good player and had a solid career before his 2 subpar years in NY. Brooks is a wise ass who jumps on bandwagons every year. I know because I read his columns every day in the Post. One minute he wants to make out with Lundqvist give him a reacharound, the next he's to blame for everything. Lundqvist wasn't good, no doubt, but they have spent money on guys like Nash, St. Louis, Yandle, Staal and Boyle and they just never got it done. Lundqvist should never get the blame with that organization.

Tldr, Brooks is a little weasel.

Good for Boyle. He's 39. Doesn't need any money. At the end of his career, and instead of showing a shroud of respect for a guy like that this guy antognizes him constantly. They just got beat out in the first round and emotions were running high. I don't have a lot of respect for reporters because most of what their job entails is stirring up s*** to get higher ratings and online views.

Yep. Reporters are divas and they know it. It's part of their job and they should take it like it is. No need to feel for them it's part of their business.

Being a reporter doesn't mean one has to be an absolute cocksucker like Brooks. If he wants to act like that fine but don't be surprised if players, coaches and GMs are firing back.

You're agreeing with what kickazz said but in an argumentative tone. Maybe you misread what he said?

No I fully agree with him.

The argumentative tone was more because of guys like Brooks, Feschuk there are reporters and then there are guys who are only interested in creating a controversy.
