Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 "...ridiculous "injury" that the russian faked" Try to put on the shin guard and then ask somebody to slash you with full force right behind the knee, where the shin guard doesn't protect you, and then pray that your MCL remains not damaged. I've strained my MCL once, I couldn't get up for a couple of minutes. Edit: spelling I hear you and saw what you saw. I have ruptured my MCL+ACL, same knee. The MCL was slightly torn prior, a violent slash crashed the entire knee. Those late minute slashes to the Russki was overly nasty, wouldn't have minded a game penalty. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 So how exactly is Nyquist shameful. He's tied with one of the worlds best centers/primary scorers in point totals For the record, I too am critical of Nyquist such as his playoff issues- and have even suggested trading him if Okposo was brought in. But all in all, this tournament has actually been a good one for him. I'm not ignoring you on this one, just haven't been able to formulate what makes Nyquist shameful/regressing overall, not the IIHF worlds where he scored enough there to be on par, despite going invisible in some games where he faced tougher competition. I have been thinking about this and will try to find the time to analyze what made him fall off the curve as he did, as it was rather unexpected statistically, which ticks my interest. Unfortunately I'm quite busy with a school thesis and may not be able to deliver in time (preseason), but will try.

miksteri 55 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) Patrik Laine 1st round pick yea? Depends, do maple laughs need a center or a winger? Aho and Puljujärvi could be high picks too. Edited May 23, 2016 by miksteri
Bolgar 62 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 If the Leafs are certain to sign Stamkos, they could draft Laine. Guy is Ovi 2.0. Otherwise, a franchise C is more important, and they don't have any. Then again, they can draft Matthews, sign Stamkos and trade away Kadri - their C will be very strong then with Stamkos, Matthews and Bozak... Anyway, as good as Laine is, I would still draft C. Aho is already drafted by Hurricanes

kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 well with Kadri locked up, Bozak there and possibility of them getting Stamkos. I'd go for Laine if I were Shanny.

toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 24, 2016 Stamkos plays more like a winger though anyway, so if the Leafs were to trade for him, I'd still go with Centre. I also don't think it makes a lot of sense to have a guy like Stamkos and a guy like Ovechkin (Laine) on the same team....too similar (would be good to have one on line 1 and one on line 2 though.....). Laine seemed to make a few slick passes in the tourney as well.
Ekmanc 586 Report post Posted May 25, 2016 So wait... there's 2 Sebastian Ahos? Isn't there a Swedish defenceman with the same name? Yes confusing but true, and I can't believe that the Swedish one hasn't been drafted yet. He's small but really good skater and puck mover. He's on the same team as Axel Holmström in the SEL. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted May 25, 2016 Ease off speculative fellow wings. You are delusional if you think Toronto will draft anyone else but Austin Matthews. And this is coming from someone who wrote that Laine should be drafted first. Both picks will be great in a few years. Let's hope our scouting staff can find us another Larkin (15th).
