I think we need a change in style of play more so than production differences. Tatar and Nyquist score a lot of gimme goals. They don't make much happen. But if a more physical player can create space and havoc and make things happen it can help the team more. It's my just the points but the type of points, in a way.

It seems like Shatty for Larkin rumor is BS

BS is that STL did not asked for Larkin

Wow that Seth Jones contract looks like it could be a HUGE steal for CBJ in a couple years..

6 years, 5.4 mill cap hit per (according to Dreger)

Now bridge deal which is a great for Columbus... otherwise it could have ended as PK Suban 2.0

Ok, with Edmonton looking to move players, plus they're interest in lucic, they are looking to change their team a bit. If we're able to land Stamkos and if they nab lucic, do you think we'd have what it takes to make a deal for Hall? Could you imagine a if we had both those pkayers?

On Steven Stamkos …

Howard Berger: A “birdie” told Berger that Steven Stamkos is primarily looking at the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres if he were to leave the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jim Matheson: Think there are only four teams Lucic would play for – Oilers, Canucks, Ducks and Bruins.

I guess if we listen to little birdies, we'll be shut out again friday. Im so tired of missing out on the stars. Holding out hope.

Yeah j saw that too.. He's a leafs writer though so of course he thinks they'll get him..

Being a leafs writer, he probably doesn't want to predict stamkos to the wings.. And so adding Toronto and buffalo (two of the more likely landing spots) to "if he leaves Tampa," he has a decent chance of being correct guessing three of the four most likely destinations :P

Edit: was supposed to quote the "birdy" comment

How much of an upgrade is Okposo over Nyquist though? The numbers look pretty similar. Maybe Okposo is a better fit because he plays a different type of game? I don't know. It seems like you're giving up on one player for another that's more expensive and just as effective.

Okposo may be less creative but he's bigger, stronger on the puck and better against the puck. Would surely be a huge upgrade. Problem is that Nyquist will be difficult to move.

Kenny to sign 2 free agent forwards and trade for an upgrade on the D .

My dark horse tip is Staal on a 2 year deal to centre the second line, just think he would reinvent himself on the Wings roster with Mantha and Abbey as his wingers.

It's not shocking to see Toronto-based writers discuss the Leafs having the greatest chance of landing Stamkos. Yesterday, Mirtle wrote about how the Leafs have a 30% chance of signing him (he has the Wings at 25%). I tried my best to stay away from rumors, because it gets brutal this time of the year. I usually get my hopes up, but the available cap space this year has me in overdrive. Either way, we're at least two days away from real answers.

I'd be surprised if he joins the sabres. They got Reinhart and Eichel and Stamkos sees himself as a Center...number one Center surely and not just next season. It's not gonna happen. Still think this isn't about the money but about the power in Tampa and that Stamkos finally is gonna resign. But we'll see.

Yeah, the amount of guys who say it's TO or bust in Canada right now are infuriating. And yet Dreger and McKenzie, the two who's insight I believe the most, say the Wings are a real possibility. This has gone on long enough though, I agree with that. Friday needs to hurry up.
