Stamkos to... Tampa

He signed the deal for 8.5 per. It's not a sign and trade.

Was hoping for a hall but after that other ludicrous trade for Larson that's off the table

Guessing that move was made cause Lucic will be an oiler

We have to trade now for a trouba/brodin and hope for maybe an eberle? Sign a Brouwer type on the market , no many great ufa's

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the right price and reasonable term. The guy has a lot to prove. Give him a short deal to prove it.

He's 31 (turning 32). The only thing he's got left to prove is how fast he ages and how much worse his decline can get. (His decline is pretty awful)

Like I said. Short term deal. If you haven't noticed, we have no top 6 center.

Staal is a lot worse than Zetterberg is. If you think Staal is a top 6 center then on that note so is Zetterberg. And if that's the case then just stick with Zetterberg as the top 6 center and promote Larkin as the other top 6 center.

Staal won't make us any better than just sticking with Larkin/Zetterberg on top 2 centers.

We should focus on signing a Winger now imo.

So the 3 biggest moves of the off-season just happened in a 35 minute span:

Stamkos re-signs in TB = Bad for Detroit

Hall to NJ, Larsson to EDM = Bad for Detroit

Weber to MTL, Subban to NSH = Bad for Detroit

NJ and MTL are true winners here today. I have no idea who wins in TB as Stamkos sacrificed a TON of money to re-sign, and TB sacrificed Kucherov and probably Bishop to do it. Detroit looks like the biggest loser of the day.

Mind = Blown.

It would be ridiculous for Eric Staal to be 31 years old and produce only 39 points and ask for $6 million dollars.

At age 31 our centers were putting up 80 points. Jeez. Hell NO to Staal.

Larkin put up more points than him as a rookie.

With moves like that I don't think it would be too hard for most of us here to make better moves than Kenny has done last 7 years

I understand your frustration but you're exaggerating here.

Alfredsson was not a bust at all. He was old, yeah, but the Wings knew that. He played well.

The Legwand deal was made to keep the Streak alive whether fans like it or not. The Streak continues so the trade can't be considered a bust.

Erik Cole was playing pretty well before getting injured. He was picked up to help in the playoffs and it was a calculated risk and one that should be made any year.
