Team NA is looking deadly against Team Europe...3 goals in the blink of an eye.. Larkin knocking one home already too.

4-1 now Speed kills

Larkin's first goal against Team Europe was a beauty. He hit that puck a few inches off the ice, angling it perfect past both goalie and defender. Superb hand-eye coordination.

He keeps impressing. Hopefully he gets second line duties/ice time or possibly 3C.

3C is a waste he should be in the top six no matter what

Why is it a waste? I get it if we are talking about regular season type play, but with this tournament, for most teams, you aren't going to be getting 1st line playing 20 minutes....minutes are going to be more evenly distributed.

Are you suggested he should play wing?

I am talking about this tournament regarding Larkin of course. There is exactly 0 percent chance Larkin will fall out of top 6 duties in our club.

To clarify, Larkin played 3rd line winger in Sunday's practice game against Team Europe.

Haven't been able to watch any of the NA vs. CZK game today due to work, but checking box score, McDavid is playing a ton....surprising, they clearly aren't taking the Canada approach which basically rolls the lines, with the top guys only getting around 16-17 min. Half-way through the game, McDavid is over 11 min.....by comparison, Larkin is just over 4 min.

Edit....I also heard an interesting comment on the radio the other day as well regarding a discussion as to what chance this team had of doing damage in this tournament. I can't remember who it was, but it wasn't some nobody hack....he didn't think they'd win a game (in the real tournament). He thought Team Europe is clearly the worst team, so results against them haven't shown much I guess (they are in the other division once the games start for real.

It will be awkward when Team NA plays against either USA or Canada. Will be awkward for the young players going up against their own country in an international tournament.

Might be the most intense games for them...trying to show what they are made of...prove that they should be selected for the big team when it comes time.

Watched the extended highlights of Team North America - Team Czech Republic. I am starting to get annoyed that Larkin isn't getting more ice time. His presence and ability is noticeably superior to his line mates and he should be getting a bigger role. To my eyes he has improved since last season.

All this bodes well for the upcoming season though. I for one do not believe that he will have a sophomore slump. In fact I'd be willing to bet a little something that if not winning the team scoring race, he will finish in the top 3. Any takers send me an odds proposal.
