amato 3,210 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) and then mantha called up... good reporting WIIM hopefully AA recovers fully/doesn't lose any speed. but stoked to see mantha play. hopefully he does enough to force the wings to keep him up. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 AA out, Mantha in. Not a bad sub normally but AA has just lifted his stock price considerably. I like Mantha being in but losing AA is a blow to this team right now which needed his speed. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 Terrible news. Excited to see Mantha get another shot though. He's been great against the Habs too. 2 of his only NHL goals came in the 2 games against Montreal. Hopefully he impresses management and we can somehow keep both Mantha and Athanasiou in the lineup when AA gets back... 1 Wingnut1989 reacted to this

krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 Yes, Bertuzzi, Mantha and Athanasiou are all waiver exempt, as well as Larkin... No one needs to be sent down right away wity AA on short term IR. My hope is that with everyone healthy, Miller gets waived but I don't see that happening. Bertuzzi / Mantha will likely be the odd man out... 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
LeftWinger 4,953 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 The real question is, what happens when Jurco comes back? ....and Vanek. Do we lose all of AA, Mantha and Bertuzzi back to GR? Or does Miller and Jurco get waived?
amato 3,210 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 Hasn't miller been in and out of the lineup? I wouldn't be surprised if he were waived when AA comes back if mantha and Bert play well. 2 krsmith17 and PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this

chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 AA injured now? What the hell! The injury curse continues. Least it's not bad though and we get to see Mantha. 1 NerveDamage reacted to this

TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 The Mantha callup could be a good thing. Hopefully AA is back quickly and is as fast as ever. 1 NerveDamage reacted to this

Jurco has been trying to come back from an injury he sustained over the summer. Even with that setback, he might be able to return in a couple weeks. Nov 11 - 3:27 PM Once he returns I think the Wings can send him down to the AHL on a temporary basis without putting him through waivers if its deemed a "conditioning assignment". I'm not the best with lines, but if it was up to me I would do some combination of the following players based on chemistry. I think most will admit that with this lineup we have a pretty strong team even without "a superstar". This could be the best 4th line in the league. Zetterberg - Larkin - Mantha Tatar - Nielsen - Abby Vanek - AA - Nyquist Sheahan - Helm - Glenndening DD - Green Marchenko - Kronwall Sproul - Smith Healthy Scratches - E, Jurco, XO, (Ott/Miller Sent down)

Oh i'm sure Holland won't. He'll be resigned to a long term deal in the offseason, no worries.
