LeftWinger 4,951 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 Bypassed a top line sniper that shoots and scores in every situation for Rumplestilskin who is absolutely horrible 5v5. I am not behind this pick at all. Not at #9 for sure. This reeks of drafting Primeau over Jagr. Not that Tippett will be jagr, but it's the same stupidity. I have no doubt that if available, Holland will pass on Hague.

Rock solid logic. Statistically speaking Rasmussen is a PP specialist, and we're terrible on the PP. Holland picked a need. It's as simple as that, but if you're too bitter about "omg omg omg we passed on Vilardi" (who btw got passed by 5 other teams) to realize the logic behind the pick then that's your ignorance. If you think the head coach bears no responsibility for hiring assistants or has a hand in the power play you're wrong. You make a shallow argument and then double down to defend Holland and Co. quite comical to be honest. Would I have liked Vilardi, yes but as you said there are some serious question marks with him. What about Suzuki, Necas, Tippett, or Liljegren? All are better 5v5, just as good on the power play, and omg they actually have a primary assist. I think KRsmith hits the nail on the head. It's not that we don't need a pp specialist, just not at 9 with better prospects on the board. I hope I am 100% wrong and he develops into a great player for us. amato 3,210 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 So much for Timmins and Hague I really like vegas' prospect pool so far. GMGM is doing a fantastic job with what he had to work with from expansion draft on.

LeftWinger 4,951 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 None of you are 100% wrong. You guys railed me up and down about listening to scouts and not drawing my own conclusions when it came to Pettersson because they watch and know more. Well guess what, listen to the scouts, none of them wouldve taken Rasputen at #9. When all analysts were saying that with Tippett and Vilardi on the board Holland had a no brainer choice. Holland can't even get that right. And what were the next two picks? The no brainer. Ken Holland made Florida and LA much better yesterday. f*** you Holland. amato 3,210 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 2 minutes ago, LeftWinger said: Holland is a hunk of s*** That's why Holland gathered all those 3rds, so he can draft unknown D thatll spend the next 10 years NOT in Detroit. No pick we had in this draft would end up in Detroit next year. Not even the 9th. Not even if it were Tippett, Viliardi, Liljegren, whoever. Development takes time. The Datsyukian Deke 127 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=212379 He was ranked much lower than where we actually picked him, but the good thing about it is...this might very well be Hakans pick.
Richdg 267 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 A scouting report: A raw, puck-moving, offensive defenseman with great scoring instincts. Most notable for his 4 goals and 5 assists in 1 game for Almunta in U16s. Since then, he's continued to put up great offensive numbers, including 7 points in 4 games for his U19 team internationally. Struggled a little in his first season with Sweden's second tier league, particularly in his play without the puck and defending stronger attackers. He still managed to finish 2nd in scoring for U19 forwards. There's skill here but he needs time to develop his d-zone game and fill out his frame physically. krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted June 24, 2017 Lindstrom's one of the players I wanted, but didn't think we'd use a 2nd on him. Thought he'd make it to the 3rd round..
